BEST ANSWER: This cable works just like the 3ft cable that comes with the modem.
Is this rated for exterior use?

BEST ANSWER: We strung it between rooms by going outside, under the eves and have had no problems. Holding up great.
Does anyone who owns one of these cables have a multi-meter? I need to know if there's the shield is attached to the metal housing of the RJ-45 connector and if there's continuity between the two metal casings of the plugs.

    Long Cable
This fabulous long cable features both cabletude, and longness. It can connect things up to 100 feet from each other, and features and connector on *both* ends! The connectors connect to ethernet hubs, switches, computers, ethernet printers, and all manner of ethernet devices. It also comes in a variety of designer / decorator colors.

    PROS: Long. Cable.

    CONS: none

Excellent Cable at a great price
You will never find a better place to order cables from. All of monoprices cables are of excellent quality at affordable prices. If you were to order or even go to a store for an Ethernet cable of this size (or any size really) you would be paying 3 times a much or more and you wouldn't be getting such a high quality cable.

    PROS: Length
    build quality

    CONS: none

    100 ft. ethernet cable
The 100 ft Ethernet cable runs nearly 100 feet into the next room. It connects to a modem that also connects to a computer next to the modem and works just as well.
Plugs in easily with a snug fit on both ends.
I highly recommend this cable instead of wifi.

Cat5e 24AWG STP Ethernet Network Patch Cable, 100ft Gray
Received cables and tested five of the seven that I received, using a CIRRIS Cable Tester. All five cables tested good, thanks Monoprice!

PROS: They work and they are cheap, not in construction, but in price!

CONS: None, that I can think of...

Bad Cable, be sure to test before you run it.
I ran this cable through the wall to the outside of the house, glued to the wall with silicon and all through the attic. Took about 5 hours plus renting a tall ladder from home depot. After it was done, I tried to connect it and nothing happened. So I bought a line tester from monoprice and tested the line and turns out the 2 line is bad/shorted.

I wish I had tested it before I installed it because it will be 10x as hard to get it out and re-run another cable. For now I'm going to have to buy a kit to replace the plugs on each line, hoping that is the only problem. Otherwise I'll have to spend a lot of money to redo the wiring.

Never had a bad product from Monoprice and only gave this 5 stars because there is a chance that I caused the damage and don't realize it, since I didn't test before installing.

PROS: Long and thick, seemed like it would be very sturdy and long lasting.

CONS: One of the lines is bad.
