Can I get a vga cable to bnc cable without having 4 or 5 connectors on it? If not can I use anyone any 1 of the 5 connectors alone?

BEST ANSWER: VGA is a video standard that involves five different signals (red/green/blue/horizontal sync/vertical sync) so the idea of a VGA cable with only a single signal doesn't really make sense.
I ordered a vga cable to bnc cable it came vga and 5 bnc ends. Can any of these be used or does it take a combination of more than one?
    New User U on Jul 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: VGA is made up of five signals: red, green, blue, horizontal sync, and vertical sync. Some variants of VGA may allow four (combined sync in one signal) or three (all sync combined with green signal), but the only type that a VGA device will definitely support is RGBHV: all five.
Can I take a vga cable to bnc with 5 ends and put a camera on one of the 5 bnc, will this work?
    A shopper on Jul 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Very probably not: the VGA device is probably expecting a VGA signal (RGBHV), while your camera, if it's using a single BNC connector, is likely outputting composite video or SDI, neither of which I would expect a VGA device to support through the VGA port.

    Invalid Signal Error
Have an identical VGA to RGBHV cable from Extron to go from a VGA output on our computer to a Barco BlendPro system which only has RGBHV inputs. We needed an additional computer input on the system. The Extron model works great, the MonoPrice one does not work at all, it gives us an invalid signal error.

CONS: Did not work - Invalid Signal error

    Revived my big box HDTV
This adapter brought my aging mitsu big box 55" rear projection back to life by enabling me to use my RGBHV from the HTPC VGA output with the RGBHV RCA input on the back of the tv. I had to get some BNC to RCA adapters to get the job done, but it works great and was the cheapest option, even after the adapters (also from monoprice: PID 4122). Couldn't be happier.

    PROS: Price. Quality.

    CONS: None

    Just didn't work
I sent several hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get a signal. Plugging this in to several different outputs did nothing. I finally found another converter this turned out to be the only part in the setup that was failing.
