For some reason, my Sony TV (EX500 55") won't take a VGA signal properly, as even with these cables, there's a lot of annoying static/grain. Works well on the average monitor though. Perhaps the TV creates a ton of interference, who knows.
I also have a computer speaker system that uses the same type of 15-pin connector to get from the subwoofer to the wired remote. Using this cable in conjunction with the VGA gender changer allows me to extend the wired remote. All other cables had problems doing this as the signal would not get through the lower-quality cables, but they all go through fine with this one.
PROS: Far better than the garbage that tends to come with cheap LCD monitors. Highly recommended for those without digital video capable devices, as it should give a much better signal, resulting in closer to digital video quality.
CONS: Thick and not easily bendable, especially with the large ferrite cores. Such is to be expected with such large/high quality cables though.
I bought this for my son, he uses it to connect his Dell PC to his 32" LCD flat panel TV. So now his TV does double duty as a PC monitor. The cable is well built and has a substantial feel to it, not flimsy at all. All the cables I buy from Monoprice have been great and you can't beat their prices.
The quality of the the cable is awesome, Im using it as a 2nd monitor for my laptop when i want to watch movies or games and the quality is great, and the price unbeatable! Thanks Monoprice! The only drawback was the shipping took over 2 weeks (To Canada)
