HDMI or Mini HDMI? Based on the picture it looks like full sized HDMI. Is this converter itself referred to as "Mini" (compared to the full sized version) not the HDMI? Since there is also a "Mini" 3G-SDI to HDMI Converter that looks exactly the same.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. These units will use the full size HDMI port. "Mini" is just referring to the size of the converters and not the HDMI ports. It will be the same with the 3G-SDI ports.

What color is the LED on this device?

Can I use this device to copy a VHS tape to a computer or DVD?
    David F on Dec 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It really depends on your input and out signals you are using. Because what this is for is to convert the signal. Now most VCR has a coaxel or RCA video and audio out. So you would need to make sure that the DVD recorder can have the same input for Audio and video. Or the video card on you computer would have the same connections. So you most likely be able to use RCA out of the vhs player to the dvd recorder and record that way. But in the end find out that the vhs player has as an output and the your input available on the dvd recorder or computer and search for a converter if they are not the same input.
Want to use this on 150ft run hd sdi cable from Panasonic wj mx50 switcher. Feeding 2 monitors will this work?
    A shopper on Dec 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It should work, of course you would ordinarily also need the HDMI to SDI converter too. That said, the higher end video equipment can have BNC outputs so only the end signal needs converted. In the religious auditorium I am familiar with we use both Monoprice converters and they work well for us. The distance the signal travels through the coax is about 70' and also through the Monoprice splitter to two TV Monitors.
Does it pass through the HDMI audio signal or strip it out?
    Chris C on Mar 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: FYI this is a receiver of HD-SDI not a transmitter. With that said yes it does convert HD-SDI to HDMI both audio and video provided that the transmitter sent both.
Is this backwards compatible with older non-hd cctv cameras?
    Richard S on Feb 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It does work with standard definition and HD- SDI cameras. I did try.
It does NOT work with analog video (composite)
Want to use this with a Panasonic wj mx50 switcher. Running 150 ft to 1st monitor then 50ft to 2nd monitor for new hd church monitors. Will this device work?
    New User U on Dec 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We have several of these units and run 1080i & 1080p signals well over 450' in single runs and daisy chained applications into other units. You should not have any issues with the distance you have mentioned. Please use Dual or Quad Shielded RG6 cables as they can handle the bandwidth.

    All the best!
Is his backward compatible ,can I convert hdmi to sdi on this device ?
    salim s on Nov 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: On the other end you would have to have the 'HDMI to SDI' Converter. One on the head end - the other at the display end. High grade RG-6U Coaxial Cable with quality BNC Connectors as your cable run
Hi, will this work at the source and destination (monitor, tv), also, can i use the ski out to dairy chain to another unit?
    A shopper on Nov 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This unit works in connection with the HDMI to SDI convertor to transport the HDMI signal to a distant location. Yes the SDI Out port is to daisy chain the SDI signal.
how many of this unit can be daizy-chained/cascaded together to distribute one HD-SDI signal source (e.g. HD-SDI program out from ATEM TVS to 4 HDMI projectors) ? what is the latency like, for every loop-out from each cascaded unit ?
    MACAULAY S on Feb 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We have found that your better installation - if possible - would be to go out of a 4 X 1 Switch to 4 of the individual converters on the display end. Yet you could also go out with a 2 X 1 Switch to two of your displays and then daisy chain a second projector on each end. We would generally go out to distribution hubs in the system rather than a continuous looping to a large quantity of displays. No latency should be experienced. We also recommend a very high quality coaxial cable such as Belden 1694. And high quality BNC Connectors.
What is the warranty on this converter? Mine quit working in just 2 and a half months...

    Fantastic product
I installed 3 of these at my church to convert HD-SDI signals from my black magic design Atem switcher and all I can say is these things have been flawless so far(4 months)! if your looking for a less expensive alternative to the mini-converters this is the ticket.

    PROS: works as advertised

    CONS: none for my use
    December 14, 2014
Works as it says, I run 1 200' HD-SDI cable to the front of ballroom, then loop out to another 100' to a monitor, then loop to another monitor that's another 100'

    PROS: Works PERFECT!!

    CONS: none

Just as good as the AJA Hi5
My company does press conferences and live events with 32" to 55" LCD screens all over the place. I've been field-testing this against our phalanx of AJA Hi5 units, and it stands up just as wellit doesn't have the analog audio out, but I have NEVER used that function, and don't think I'll ever need to. I've already bought two of these, and will definitely get more when the need arises!

    PROS: Small footprint

    Reclocking output

    No-nonsense interface

    Two thumbs up
I am using several of these to convert SDI cameras to HDMI for monitoring. SDI pass through allows SDI signal to then go to switcher. I have purchased several of these types of converters from various manufacturers. Most, but not all, work completely plug-and-play. This one performs as well as those for quite a bit less $$$.

PROS: Small, inexpensive (from 1/3 to 1/5 the price of competitors). Total plug and play. It works.

    CONS: None

    SF Formats do not work.

PROS: Built well and perform as advertised.

The units work fine at the frame rates and standards listed.

CONS: The units do not convert 23.98sf and 24sf to HDMI, so they are unable to give you a picture from professional video equipment that outputs 23.98p and 24p in sf format. (i.e. Sony)

The units should have a locked LED to let you know that a signal is present on the input.

    3G SDI to HDMI Converter
Great product for low dollars (although it seems to have gone up since i bought ours).

PROS: Solid built, inexpensive, does what it says it should. Cheap enough you can buy a back up if one fails. It comes with mounting brackets and has SDI loop through

CONS: SDI Loop through DOES add delay to the signal so if you are using it to feed several devices that will be seen together this WILL be noticeable. Wall-wart power (everything has them but I still hate them)

    Does not Work as advertised
The specs say it will pass 60fps but it only does 30fps. Misleading advertising on this one.
