Blackbird 4K HDMI Scaler with S/PDIF Audio Extractor
The Blackbird™ 4K HDMI® Scaler and Audio Extractor is the perfect component for any home entertainment system. With this extractor, you can play content from a 1080p or MHL mobile device onto a UHD 4K display and audio system, using an external amplifier or AV receiver.
The Blackbird accepts from a 1080p HDMI source or from an MHL®-enabled mobile device via the Micro USB port. In addition to the ultra high resolution (UHD) video output, the audio signal is duplicated on the digital optical S/PDIF (Toslink®) audio output, for separate processing on an external amplifier or AV receiver.

ALWAYS try it from the SOURCE to the box to the TV and see if it works. If it works the box is fine.
Then insert the Receiver.
If it does not work there is an incompatibility issue with the receiver & Box.
You MAY contact the manufacturer (of both units) for an update that may fix the problem, but don't hold your breath.
