Does this just split the video signal or does the pc/laptop see both monitors? I want it to just split the signal.
BEST ANSWER: This is a splitter. It takes a displayport and splits into two displayport plugs.
Will this support extended desktop ?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I connected this to my Dell M4600 and 2 Dell HDMI monitors using 2 active displayport to HDMI adapters, (Product # 12781). I had quality extended desktop, beautiful pictures. Don't forget, get a displayport patch cable, I used the 3-ft, (Product # 13359).
I have a display across the room, cabling is HDMI 35' plus wall plate and a 6' display port to HDMI cable. Do i need a booster, too? or can this splitter drive the run?
3.0 / 5.0
I'm running Win7 64-Bit on Dell M4600 with Dell Dock E-Port Plus, AMD Firepro M5100 2-GB, and 3 Dell HDMI monitors. This 1x2 DisplayPort Splitter is plugged into the first DisplayPort connection on the Dock using 2 Active DisplayPort to HDMI adapters. A 3rd Active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter plugged into the 2nd DisplayPort connection on the Dock. Everything works, Extended Display across 3 monitors, couldn't be more pleased. Thanks MonoPrice for exceptional products 8-)
