can I use this device to go from my Directv reciever and splitt to additional tv in another room ?
    A shopper on Jun 14, 2017
As long as you have a good hdmi input source, this unit will split the signal to multiple hdmi TVs.
I'm using mine from a computer to 2 TVs and 1 projector.
Will this allow me to extend my display across 3 monitors with one HDMI output from my laptop?
    Jerry P on Jul 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. What you need is a USB3 dock with multiple monitor support. Search for B00O0M46KO on Amazon. I like that product. Monoprice may have a similar item, but dont have the time to search.
Will this allow someone to split the audio and video signals? e..g. use one HDMI 4K lead for display, and the other in a non-4K receiver for the full dolby, trueHD, etc. audio signal?
    J A S on Jun 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Theoretically you can connect a splitter in that way. However, some receivers require a sync device to be connected to the output (such as a Monitor or TV). I would recommend double checking your receiver as to if it would require an output to be connected as well.

    Works Perfectly
Works great to distribute video throughout my home. Longest cable connected is a 100 ft. Monoprice Cabernet Redmere HDMI cable and the signal comes through perfectly. I'd highly recommend this item for anyone looking to project an HDMI signal to multiple displays simultaneously.

    PROS: supports 4 displays
    works perfect (I'm only pushing 1080p @ 60fps)

CONS: it doesn't make me breakfast

    Forget it
EDID doesn't work for audio at all, didn't check much for video. 2ch/5.1/HD all reports the same to device. power cycling/pluggin in different sources no help, auto mode with only HD audio receiver no help either.

1x4 splitter, not a EDID manager at all.
Bought this thinking I could get EDID management for my HDMI matrix, 2 x AVR. I needed HDMI out to 3 different devices and this worked perfect, until you try to use the EDID management. If you set it to anything other than AUTO, you don't get any audio output. I called Tech Support and they said, thats strange, we have only had one other person say that, we will send you another one. Well, guess what, same issue. I know what you are thinking, he doesn't know what he is doing....well, I put a Dr HDMI on the input of the 1x4 and I got TrueHD out to my AVRs. This thing is not worth the hassle, unless you want auto EDID detection, which will be the lowest common denominator of all the items you have plugged into the outputs.

    PROS: tiny
    enables new inputs quickly

CONS: EDID management doesn't work at all

Works great and installs easily. The front LED's let you know which remote TV's are on and communicating.

    Works as described. No problems.
Bought 4 of these to send to a variety of displays of different brands and types. Works perfectly.

    PROS: Solves EDID issues

CONS: Did not come with any documentation of what the different display lights meant. Found manual online, it should have been included in box.

    Didn't like it
send it back. Caused me to replace other equipment - so - no thank you.
When it asks for an overall rating - it looks like I have to give one star or it doesn't accept it.
