Is there a 4K@60Hz version of this product?
    Raymond H on Sep 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is a 4 k version of the blackbird splitter. https://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=21608&seq=1&format=2
After running CAT6 cable, it looks like we underestimated the length of the run and are now at about 200ft, for one of the outputs. Is possible to use a second extender in series or a high quality 40ft HDMI cable on the receiver's output? Thanks!
    Ryan G on Sep 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Did you try it to see if it works already?

Otherwise it's possible, just not recommended due to possible degradation. I'd personally do a 2nd active extender v.s. a 40ft HDMI cable.

BEST ANSWER: Works well if your DVR box supports RF remote and you have one remote for each location.
This may work better for your situation if you have IR remote controls only. Be sure to read the specs to make sure it fits your needs: http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15521#QA
This kit includes both the transmitter & 2 receivers correct?

    Enjoy it while it lasts
I have had two of these products fail on me after a few months of use. In both cases, product worked fine for 1-2 months but then I started experiencing 5-8 sec drops in the signal (i.e, momentarily blank TV screen). Eventually, a first output on the transmitter failed completely, and then the second followed suit. Monoprice replaced the first through an RMA process and has agreed to replace the 2nd one. However, this doesn't make up for the amount of use I've on my primary TV, the time and effort wasted in taking the mounted TV down twice to remove the receiver for returns, or the cost of shipping the product back twice. I asked the RMA rep if other customers had experienced similar problems (since I've had the same exact result twice) and he said he wasn't aware of other reports. However, I've read of similar experiences from other purchasers on various internet forums, so I know I'm not unique. And since monoprice is waiting until they have received and processed the return before sending out the replacement, it means the whole process will be stalled at least a few days until I can find time to unmount my TV once again so I can access the receiver that is tucked in a crevice on the back panel of the TV between the wall and the rear of the TV. It's probably not prudent to install this some place difficult to access as there's a good chance the product will eventually need to be disconnected and returned. I think it might be worth spending extra money for something reliable.

PROS: While it works, the product seems effective.

    CONS: Very poor reliability

Great product. I used to to split an output for a security camera system setup. Couldnt be happier!

    PROS: Easy to setup

    No settings to mess with

    Plug and Play

CONS: Wish the HDMI and Ethernet plug where on the same side.

    Works perfectly with Apple TV
We have this setup at our church hooked up to 2 Viewsonic Pro8500 projectors. It works perfectly with the Apple TV - very impressed. No compatibility issues or hdmi weirdness.

Note: I used 1 shielded Cat5e cable for each extender box at about 100'

PROS: Product IS HDCP compliant (chatted with tech support as I couldn't find it in the description.

    CONS: None

    Continued success
I own several of these splitter/extenders. Most recently 1X2, but I have 1X8 and 1X4 units in operation. They work well for sending HDMI over a distance of 168 feet and even farther (not recommended). They are reliable. Only issue I have had is that they don't work well with CAT6 jacks inline. I like to finish to an RJ45 wall plate but have had some problems unless the CAT 6 cable is terminated with an RJ45 plug and no jacks inline. Not such a big issues in most cases. They have been solid performers for me.

    PROS: Reliable

    Good price point

Solves problem of getting HDMI signal over an extended distance

CONS: Doesn't like standard CAT6 jacks in the signal chain

I have been using a Monoprice HDMI splitter to drive two HDTVs. One was 20' and the other was 70' of HDMI cable. The Panasonic Plasma was on the 20' cable and worked perfectly. The LG was at the end of the long cable and it also worked without issue. I decided to upgrade the LG to a larger LED TV. However, when I replace the LG with a new Vizio it would not sync with the source. I finally got it work by using a 50' cable but that was not a long term solution since the cable would only reach if I ran it through the hallways. I tried a better quality 65' cable that would reach but it also would not synch. So, in one last attempt I purchased this splitter/extender and replaced by HDMI splitter/long cable solution. It worked right out of the box. It cost a bit more but it is hassle free. I like that it uses only one cat6 cable. Wiring through the attic was so much easier than with the thick HDMI. The receivers are small enough but they require power so thats a design consideration. It would be cool if the IR could be run on the same cat6 as well. With the current solution I need to run a separate 3 conductor wire to carry the IR from the TV back to the source. No big issue, just another cable. I am thinking or demoting the power supply for the receiver as well. Its 5 Volt. I need to see how sensitive the receiver is to the voltage drop over 75ft.

Anyway, I will buy this splitter again or the larger version.

PROS: It works on 75ft cat6

    CONS: receiver units need power

    Only two ports

Finally , one that works GREAT and cost effective
finally a cat5/6 splitter that actually works with no issues.. This was a great item on a very long cat5e run to split incoming cable to 2 tvs for a customer install on a large outdoor BBQ patio setup.. will be using more of these

    PROS: plug and play

    CONS: none

    DirecTv to Two TVs
Using this splitter to send my DirecTV HDMI to a TV in the living room and a TV in the kitchen. Distances in both cases are only around 30-40 feet.

But I have no complaints about this unit and was very happy with how easy it was to connect and start using. Even my one con of requiring a separate power supply for each unit (the one splitter and two receivers) is not so much a problem as it is annoying. From my research I understand the HDMI splitters that only use power from the HDMI port do not work as well so I suppose the separate power supply for splitters will be a con for all splitters until someone comes up with a better splitter.

    PROS: Easy to setup
    Perfect picture

CONS: Each device requires a separate power supply

    great unit
One word of caution. You will need 2 Cat6 cables and 3 HDMI cables. Order them at the same time.

PROS: Works just as advertised. I am using a75' Cat6 cable. Great solution to doubling your HDMI signal from an older DISH satellite receiver that only feeds hi def to one TV.

Works as advertised, Amazingly fast shipping
Does a great job if you don't have a 3D TV. I have to figure a way around this.

PROS: Shipped overnight same day it was ordered, arrived next morning.
Works as advertised - able to add HDTV in another room to my DirecTV DVR.

CONS: I didn't check the specs enough to realize that this does not support 3D. With it I get a message on my 3D Channels that thinks my TV isn't a 3D type, so they are blocked.
Changing channels with my DVR seems to take twice as long to show on TV as before, and the sound begins until about one second after picture.

    Works like a charm!
Bought this item in December. Works like a charm! 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround sound is passed through along with 1080p video. No blips no pixelation. Combined this item with PID 8150 so that I can switch between two different sources. Works great together. I have one output in the living room and one in the bedroom. Mind your distance.

PROS: Supports 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround sound.
    Supports 1080p resolution.
    Doubles the output.
Can output to two separate sources simultaneously with no loss in quality.
    Plug and Play.

CONS: Works with only one source.
All three must be plugged in to work.
    No USB power source.
    Plugs are huge.
