1X2 PRO Series Powered HDMI® Splitter with 3D support (Rev. 2.0)

Watch your video content on two displays at the same time using this 1x2 HDMI® Splitter from Monoprice!

This splitter features an internal amplifier, which boosts the HDMI signal and allows the use of longer than normal HDMI cable runs. The one HDMI input and two HDMI output ports are gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections. The splitter is powered by an included 5 VDC, 1A AC adapter.

The splitter supports High Speed HDMI signals, which means that it supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p Resolution - It supports the full 1080p@60Hz HDMI resolution.
    • 3D Video - It supports all standard HDMI 3D modes.
    • Deep Color - It supports deep color up to 12-bits per channel, 36-bits total.
    • High Definition Audio - It supports high-definition multi-channel audio signals, including Dolby TrueHD™ and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends using 22AWG, 24AWG, or active HDMI cables with Redmere technology to achieve the best results and to ensure minimum signal loss over longer distances.

Best HDMI splitter I've ever got
    Here is my setup :
    - Sony VPL-HW30 3D videoprojector
    - 2009 Samsung TV plasma 50' non 3D
    - Yamaha RX-v473 AV receiver
    - Sony BDP-S590 BR player.

I purchased 4 different HDMI splitters from Ebay, none of them were able to handle properly the handshake between the BR player and the 3D videoprojector, whereas they were supposed to have 3D capabilities !

I used to get the warning message "There is no 3D display output..." when the 3D disc is launched.

I was desperated...until I purchased the MONOPRICE one.
It works flawlessly !! It works even if the Samsung non 3D TV is ON !

Congratulations for this great product !

So for whose who're looking for a 3D compatible splitter (even if you plug a 3D device and a NON 3D device), THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE !

    Thank you again

    PROS: Work perfectly !

I've been through two of these already. I bought this thinking this would be a great choice given the great reviews and the price (not cheap). It starts out working fine but over time the HDMI ports start failing. The first one had one defective HDMI output port. Monoprice replaced this one under warranty. The second one failed again (both ports) but it was past the 1 year period (16 months) so they would not replace it.

I cannot recommend this device - especially at this price.

    PROS: Ok when it works

    CONS: Very unreliable

    Plug and Play
This is another Monoprice hit. I have yet to get a bad item.
This is a well built unit that just works. I plugged it in attached my HDMI cables and voila everything worked. The unit has a metal case and weighs enough to stay put. My picture looks fine and both TV's show no change in picture quality.

PROS: Metal case, nice size, works as expected.

    CONS: None

    HDMI Splitter
Running on cat 6. Cable run from time warner modem to router is 35'. 3' from router to hdmi splitter. one run 50' from splitter to the bedroom. second run 75' from splitter to the living room.

Wish the AVS guys I paid thousand to put together an AVS solution when my condo was built would have sold me this solution vs. making me pay for all the component cable I pulled out. Should have did my research sooner and did it myself from the start.

PROS: super easy. great picture quality with my samsung led tvs. I bought two. One for bedroom. One for living room.

    CONS: none

    Problem solver
I needed a splitter to send the signal from my Marantz receiver to a 720p Samsung Plasma and a 1080p Runco projector. I was concerned the splitter would down-regulate the signal to 720p (the direction manual indicates this is possible), however, after testing the unit with an HD Comcast signal (1080i) and Bluray (1080p, 24hz) the splitter sent the audio and video signal without a hitch to both displays. The Samsung is connected via 35' HDMI cable. As an added bonus, the splitter somehow solved a problem I was having between the Marantz and my LG Bluray player. Before getting the splitter, when the Bluray was powered up the Marantz would drop the video when the LG would advance from the LG splash screen to the main menu of the player. This caused me to have to connect directly to the projector via HDMI for video and use digital coax to the receiver for audio. This is not the preferred method of connection but thanks to this splitter I can now go from the LG directly to the Marantz using HDMI with no issues. When you compare prices for some of the "higher end" splitters out there, this Monoprice splitter is a tremendous value.

PROS: Works as expected. Solidly built. Shipping was lightning fast and the product was very well packaged.

    CONS: Directions could be better.

hassle free and it seems to work well - good investment
Just went to U-verse and had situation where we had a 32" LED TV that was located in next room but only about 10 ft away from our main Uverse box and 60" LEDTV . In the prior setup, my GF had just used a coaxial splitter from directv box to supply a signal to the small TV. Buying an extra box was an option but had the minimum $8/month forever pricetag and really wasn't really necessary as this 2nd TV could be controlled from 3 steps away if needed. Also Installation of this box would have been a larger process, involving AT&T tech to come back out and reconfigure original install to move the wireless box to this location.
Coaxial splitting to 2nd TV was no longer an option, only choice was 5 wire component video feed (decided wiring this choice would be way too bulky) or try a HDMI splitter.
When I researched HDMI splitters, I realized it was theoretically possible to go with low $$ end and maybe get lucky but I read way too many horror stories about pigtail style and lower cost powered splitters. A couple of other products from Monoprice or other vendors in this $range (or slightly cheaper) either had an issue with power indicator light being bright enough to illuminate airports, far more reported problems especially with product life or having to be manually reset too often.
I talked via chat with Monoprice rep via live chat (who was helpful, informative and NOT pushy) and after researching his suggestions I decided this was my best shot at getting a high quality, dependable, hassle free HDMI splitter for reasonable money. Again - there were horror story reviews connected to every splitter I researched - even this one but out of the few HDMI splitters I found in the $30-$60 range, this model seemed the best for my need and this one didn't have the complaints about lighting up the room. I could perhaps have probably gotten away with a lesser quality product because the 2nd TV was so close but I knew it was possible I might use it in a more demanding situation down the road.
It worked well after initial install and hasn't had one problem since. The initial install, I did NOT follow the directions explicitly (I think I turned on TV set 2 before TV 1) anyways long story short - the only quirk about HDMI splitters is the plug-in and power up sequence is important. Once I did it the right way, it worked perfectly and continues to be an excellent investment that will pay for it self in 8 months counting the super high quality cables I purchased with it.
Monoprice served this 1st time customer well and I will be back. I appreciate everything about what they had to offer from selection to price to service to timeliness of delivery.

I can't say anything about after the sale service because I had no problem and I doubt I will ever need service on the high quality products I got at very reasonable prices.

PROS: Works reliably and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

CONS: Power plug at outlet is a largest one of about 6 (TV, Uverse Box, Uverse Modem, Blu-Ray, Phone, Splitter) going into the surge protector power strip perhaps it could be smaller?

Splitting the HDMI output of a Comcast cable bot to 2 TV's. The closes TV is 3 feet. The other TV is 35 feet + wall connector + 3 feet + Flexible cable at TV. No problems.

    PROS: Works Great

    CONS: none

    Plug 'n' playworked great!
Plug 'n' playworked great! My HDMI source is a Tivo 3 HD, feeding a Vizio HDTV with a 3' HDMI cable and a Samsung T27A300 with a 30' HDMI cable. The long HDMI cable is also powered near the Samsung. The Monoprice 1X2 HD works great and provides a strong HD signal to both TVs.

PROS: Simple to install. Inexpensive. Small, neat device. Worked right out of the box.

    CONS: None.

    An awesome splitter!
When I first got this splitter I was using an HDMI cable from Radioshack little did I know the cables they sell are absolute garbage. For about 2 weeks I had very bad blue snow across one of my monitors. After I ordered a set of cables from Monoprice the issue cleared itself right up, the splitter works perfectly now!

    PROS: Small, extremely simple.

CONS: Runs a bit hot, is a bit slow to transition from screens on first boot up or when swapping cables.

Wow this works with extreme case
Very stable unit and I can see it build really well. I have 50 ft of HDMI attached to 25 ft with an extender ($17 from Monoprice). So, this is extreme case with 75 feet extended. Connected one output to 720 P 23" TV with 60HZ refresh rate and second one to Yamaha receiver which goes to 1080P 52" 240 HZ refresh rate. You can watch the same video with 5.1 from either TV with one TV off or both TV on.

Great product and don't waste money on those cheap filters.

PROS: Well built with real good materials. Plug and Play!

    CONS: $50+ with shipping charge.
