Does this switch auto-switch? Or is it just manual switching?
    A shopper on May 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The SOURCE/MODE/3s button can be pressed to switch among the 4 input sources 'circularly'. The same button can be held down for 3 seconds to toggle between auto-switch and manual switch modes.
Does this switch honestly work with HDR? I have bought SO many switches that say they support HDR 4K, to only get them home and have to send them right back because they do not support it.
    A shopper on Jun 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This 4x1 switch will support HDR no problem. Just be sure that you are using the proper cables to support HDR.
Does this have native support with the Harmony remote series? I know I can manually add devices in and manually program devices, but if this is already supported it will make this purchase easier

I already have the older Blackbird 4K Pro (15263). Does the 21614 have a separate IR remote than that? That is, can I use both with a Harmony together and not have them interfere with each other?

Is this a seamless switch or does it it take 1 or 2 seconds to switch between sources.?
    Stuart L on May 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It takes 1-2 seconds to switch: at least for me. I currently have a Nintendo Switch, Shield TV 2017, Roku Ultra and Chromecast Ultra attached. Personally, I prefer the 1-2 second switch times over having problems that have me resorting to power cycling the switch, display or device to get a picture. Switch has no issue going from 1080p to 4K to 4K HDR and I can bump up the color spaces on the Shield TV and Roku back to 4:2:2 (the switch truly supports 4:4:4 pass-through unlike my previous switch). FYI: according to the manual, the switch is firmware upgradable.
I want to use this with the SlimRun AV Cable for HDMI Enabled Devices (75ft) as my output. I read that this cable needs a powered HDMI port. Does this switch support this? Basically, will this switch work with that cable as the output HDMI?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Active HDMI cables will pull power from the 5V pin on the TV's HDMI port. It will work as the output from an HDMI switch. Just be sure that the TV labeled end is connected directly to your TV.

The manual makes reference to updating the firmware but where do you download it from?
    Shawn N on Oct 5, 2017
    Does it support HDMI-CEC ?
    A shopper on Jun 11, 2017
    BEST ANSWER: Yes
Does this switch automatically switch inputs when a new device is turned on, or the current device is turned off - or must you manually press a button on the device or remote to switch inputs? Additionally, does auto-switching only happen on power on/off, or does it sense video signals as well for devices that are always on but may be in a sleep/suspend mode with no video?
    Clint K on Sep 22, 2017
    BEST ANSWER: It's manual.
Can I tie a home theater receiver in in with this switch ?
    Darin d on May 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. We highly advise against connecting a home theater receiver and a switch together. Doing so will add resistance to the signal and has a high chance of failure. If your TV has an audio output it would be recommend to connect via that output to your receiver. That way anything plugged into your TV will output to your receiver.

    Big power in small footprint.
I have been using the Blackbird 4K Pro HDMI Switch for over a week now and i love it! My specific use for the device is expanding my quantity of available HDMI ports with automatic switching while maintaining the 4K resolution and HDR format of the video signal. This little box does exactly that with automatic switching no less!

My only gripe is about a packaging/cost saving decision and not a functionality limitation. The unit comes with an IR remote control for manually switching between devices since the automatic feature only works when a device first powers on. Well, the remote did not come with the coin-cell battery it requires. Sure it is minimal effort to walk to the unit and press the button to change it, but the same argument could be made for swapping the HDMI cables to begin with. After all I payed $89.99 for convenience didn't I? If it were a AA or even a AAA battery I would have it covered and would not have withheld a star on this review, but I do not keep a stock of the plethora of choices in the coin-cell battery world.

Finally an HDR switch that works!
This is my third Switch I have tried, two from another company, and finally one that actually does what it says. I needed a switch for my PC (NVidia GTX 1080ti), PS4 Pro, and my future Xbox One X.

The first two switches could handle 4K no problem, but when trying to use HDR, they just could not handle the additional data trying to be pushed through.

Now with my Blackbird 4K Pro, I have both my PC and PS4 Pro connected and fully working with 4K and HDR. So very excited to have a product that does what it says it does.

Works fine but why cheap-out on the remote control battery?
I have to agree with some of the other reviews here. While the switch seems to work perfectly, I was amazed that the small remote control did not include the CD2025 battery. Luckily, I had another remote hanging around that used this battery, so I wasn't out of luck.

Although the switch deserves 5 stars, only 4 will be awarded because of the battery.

    Underwhelming
This is my initial review right out the box. The auto switch does not work which is really disappointing. Manually changing to the next input has about a 5+ second delay which is also disappointing. Updating firmware is confusing and unclear - I was hoping a firmware update would fix these issues...if I can find it. I'm coming from a 1080p switch that can auto switch and has a 1s delay when changing inputs so my expectations are high.

I'll revise this review if anything changes but just a warning that this switch may not live to your expectations right out the box.
