Are these designed for solid or stranded wire?

BEST ANSWER: Best for solid wire. Haven't tried stranded though. In wall wiring is typically solid due to it's more economic price point.

Does anybody know if these fit side by side in a keystone patch panel?

Monoprice Cat6 RJ-45 Toolless Keystone - White
Monoprice Keystone Jack Panel, 48 ports
Monoprice 24-port Keystone Jack Panel
Monoprice Keystone Jack Panel, 48 ports
3 hole wall plate 6729 and mounting bracket 7013 can't be used with keystones 5384. The keystone will not clear the bracket, preventing the wall plate from being screwed in place. Monoprice product supports says that either keystone 1044 or keystone 15656 will work. Hope this saves some frustration for someone.

Can you provide a current installation manual for this product? I ordered this exact part number (# 1044) and the component I received looks nothing like the one on this product page or the provided manual.

Does not match picture
The ones I received did NOT match this picture. It still works but is a big hassle to get all the wires in where they're supposed to go. The tolerances are very tight.

Received a completely different product, no instructions
Like other reviewers, I got something that looked nothing like what is pictured here, but still thought it might work. This weekend was the big cable running weekend, and of course they didn't work. I'd steer clear of these.
Monoprice support was cool about it though, so ordered the traditional keystone kind and a punch down tool and hopefully all will be well.

A good thought but not too practical
More difficult than just going old fashioned and using the tool. Might be easier for someone with small hands. Just grab a tool and some old style keystones

Retainer is a bit lack luster.
The wiring works, but I find the device that locks the cables in keeps falling out.

Not actually toolless but definitely worthless
If you're new to running RJ-45 and want to save money by not getting a punch down tool, look elsewhere. That was me. First time running RJ-45 and figured I may never need a punchdown tool ever again.
The idea behind this product is to seat the wires in the correct spot, then clamp them down into the connectors. In theory, it's a great idea. In practice, clamping things down does require a tool (the included plastic lever isn't enough) and the connectors don't cut into the wire jackets enough to create a strong connection. This literally requires a tool and still doesn't actually do what it's supposed to do.
I haven't saved any time (I've spent 2+ hours troubleshooting this) and unless I can get a refund on these, I'll end up spending more money than I would have just getting a punchdown tool in the first place. In top of that, a project I was hoping to complete today probably won't be finished until next weekend since I'll need to order different keystone jacks as well as the punchdown tool.

Not dependable
Stick with the traditional jacks. These aren't dependable.

A bit hard to crimp closed with the plastic tool, but easy to use.

Do not use, not recommended.
These are garbage. They are toolless, however the wires will not seat into the connectors. I even used my punchdown, and I could still not get a solid connection. I threw these away and luckily I had a couple of my older connectors on hand to finish the job.
