The pinout and cable gauge can determine fast charging capabilities, and i have always had these cables work for me for fast charging. It is NOT required to be USB 3.0. That said, your mileage may vary. Your particular phone or charger MAY require it to be a USB 3.0 cable, different manufacturers like to play games to get you to spend 20x the cost just so you buy their cables. I have had fast charging results from these cables on my LG V10, though, as long as I also make sure to use a fast charging charger, of course. I don't believe that they fast charge when plugged into the computer, though, even when I make sure to plug it into a USB 3.0 cable.
This is one of the best prices that you will find for a USB-A to Micro B cable at 15'. Used this cable to daisy chain 2 Wyze cameras, that is have 2 cameras using one power supply. The micro b connection had to be shaved with an xacto knife to fit into the tiny Wyze Cam usb port, but it worked like a charm after the modification.
Mono always has reliable cables (with connectors) that WORK. On top of that, Mono is always the least expensive units. I've been using Monoprice for at least10 years, building computers for at least 35 years, and have never had to return anything except good will. This particular cable was for 'hidden' automobile power for connecting a cell phone attached to the windshield. 15 ft. turned out to be about 3 feet too much: but it did get hidden.
Works well with late 2016 MacBook Pro with TouchBar
I'm not a fan of buying a USB-C to USB 2.0 adapter to connect to an existing USB cable when an entire replacement USB-C to USB-2.0 micro B cable purchased for less than the adapter itself. This cable works well with my MBP w/ TB and I don't have adapters to worry about.
