Would you recommend this cable for connecting my Windows 10 computer to my preamp's DAC (Emotiva PT-100) that's across the room? Will the active electronics affect the audio? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can absolutely connect the computer to the DAC. I'm currently connecting an Alesis DM10 drum module and using the usb active cable connection for DM10 midi drums output all the way across the studio to the MacPro usb input with no problems, zero latency.

For your specific use i cant give a recommendation, only my experience. With the focusrite solo it worked well. I couldnt use it with the audient id4, as that interface would click on and off rapidly when connected.

I used this to connect my Windows 10 computer to a Project Series USB Phono Plus across the room and it worked perfectly. I'm not an audiophile but the active electronics did not seem to effect the audio at all.

BEST ANSWER: No it is not, at least no indication on the wire..... the only one is 80 celsius rated, so not fire retardant..... sorry
Does that exist anyway? There is a bit of exageration in those precautions......and did you know they question about day to day health safety for all those fire retardant products...

Where on the cable is the wart located on the 33ft long version? Is it in the middle or biased toward an end? If it is in the middle I need to fit the wart inside of a 1-1/4" diameter electrical conduit.

BEST ANSWER: The "wart" is fairly close to the end of the cable - around 6 feet from the end. This is normal for these types of cables since the last leg of the cable must fall within USB specs.

Though no reason to doubt it, is this cable compatible with connecting Mac-based computer to printers? (Reason for question - the "Compatible" spec for listed only lists Windows OS compatibility). Thank you.

Is it truly only compatible up to Windows 7? My OS is Windows 10. It seems to me that as long as an OS supports USB at all, then it shouldn't matter the identity of the cable. If it were any other typical USB cable, I wouldn't even ask this question, but since it is powered/active for the long length, I'd like to make sure I can use it with Windows 10.

USB 33ft cable
I chose the 33 ft USB cable to run audio from my computer to my Yamaha amp. Works great, I can now send full digital audio to my sound system with no analog conversion.

Monoprice USB-A to USB-B 2.0 Cable
A little long (33ft -- I only needed about 15 ft) but it works great for my new office to allow me to place my printer almost anywhere in my office. Further, it was very inexpensive compared to other stores.
