Needed a short cable to connect my blu-ray player to a converter box and didn't want a lot of extra cable behind my equipment. This did the trick. Sometimes a short cable is all you need. It's nice to find one at Monoprice.
Works as intended. I should have realized it is thick and stiff. It doesn't bend easily like a consumer cable would. This cable would work best in a situation where it is used in a straight line, not bent in a U shape. The cable can handle it, but because it's so heavy duty, it puts pressure on the HDMI ports.
I ordered a 12" cable for a short run between a book PC and a monitor. The cable is so stiff that it lifts the book pc off the desk. Additionally, the cable portion is only 9" long (the rigid connectors make up the remaining 3"), making it too short to really work well. I'm sure the lack of flexibility is fine for the longer cables, but for a 12" cable it's really detrimental.
PROS: Decent quality
CONS: 12" is too stiff to bend in a tight radius. Connectors are long and consume 25% of the cable length.
Perfect length for my DVD to computer monitor HDMI connection
I was referred to Monoprice by a clerk at a local wholesale business, United Radio Supply, which did not stock the item I required. It arrived promptly and works perfectly, unlike an earlier attempt from Amazon which had been DOA. I also ordered and recommend the right angle adapter to go with it when connecting a DVD layer to a computer monitor.
PROS: Low price, excellent quality, stiffness of cable will reduce flexing fatigue and extend life.
CONS: None when used with the separate right angle adapter if needed.
An incredibly thick and unwieldy cable, that is virtually bend-proof in the one foot version I purchased. I bought the cable along with ah HDMI switch, and this cable was recommended. I wanted a cable that would easily fit into my media center, so I got the one-foot cable. It's inflexibility makes it useless unless you've got a foot or more of unused space between what it connects. I tossed mine, and used a regular high-speed cable. The regular gauge high-speed cable is working just fine.
PROS: I didn't waste too much money on it.
CONS: Unusable in spaces where the cable needs to bend.
