Would this be suitable for a chimney mounted exterior tv antenna ?
A shopper
on Jun 10, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I’d use an outdoor rated cable instead. Where the cable runs down the chimney, over the flashing, and roofing materials to where it goes under the eaves will be subject to a lot of UV that will break down an interior rated cable much more quickly.

If you are using it to connect an antenna to your device then yes.. If you are using it as the antenna then no. Also see if your antenna requires an coax cable for connectivity in your instructions.. If so, then this cable will not work.

No - this is an RCA cable specifically for audio signals only, and not the video/audio signals that transmit via coaxial cables.

Why would one choose this versus the Onix series cable? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Appears to be a newer cable. Same specs and construction, but the Onyx appears to have a jacket made of braided nylon and different connectors. Price looks the same.

Monoprice 25ft Premium 2 RCA Plug/2 RCA Plug M/M 22AWG Cable - Black
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The only RCA cables we will have that will be CL2 rated will be the single RCA cables (High-quality Coaxial Audio/Video RCA CL2 Rated Cable - RG6/U 75ohm). Such as PID 2683. We would not carry them as a pair unfortunately.

No problem. I ended up buying a single RCA cable and a 5 strand component cable (3 video + 2 audio) and separated it into the audio pair, 2 video, and 1 single video to pair with the single RCA I bought. Since I'm only sending audio, the video cables are overspecc'd, but worked well for what I needed. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: If you were looking to connect two different devices with RCA connectors, this cable will work.
You may want to consult the manual for the speakers to verify the best method to connect them to the received you currently are using.

Has the connector gotten any looser? (I have this exact cable from several years ago and it's WAY too tight. Feels like I'm gonna break the receiver's output every time I put it in.)

BEST ANSWER: My connectors were too loose. I had to use try to pinch them a little tighter with my fingers before they would stay on firmly. I'm guessing you could use something to try to gently pry them apart so they fit your particular connector better. They seemed to stay in the position I squeezed them into just fine.

The "U" designation stands for Utility.
By definition, RG6 and RG6U are both double shielded, 18AWG solid core conductors and will have a beefier insulation than RG59.

High quality at a great price
My only complaint with this cable was that the plugs were a bit lose. I fixed that by just squeezing really hard on them and pushing down the flares of the plug. They fit great now. Probably better to be too lose than too tight because it was easily remedied.
