can I use this to connect external amplifier to a receiver?

Works fine. It's a cable

I didn't realize the digital RCA cable is different from regular RCA cable. Bought this one for price and length I needed. It worked fine.

Good thick quality cable.

Cables are thick and very good quality. I wasn't impressed with the connectors as the metal was very thin and didn't fit tightly to my subwoofer so I tried to bend it a bit to make a snug connection and it collapsed down to the center post. I was able to pry it back into shape and it works fine
