Didn't do my homework before I purchased this cable. If your purchasing this for Hi-Def or connected it to or from a HDCP device it will not work. HDCP requires a handshake before sending or accepting a signal. Might work on a device 6 years old or older since that is when HDCP was first introduced.
I purchased this cable in combination with PID: 3002 3-RCA RGB Coupler for Component Video Cable Extension. I use these items along with the Sony PS3 Component A/V cable to view my PlayStation 3 on my Sceptre X20G-Naga III monitor. To my surprise it actually worked! You can no longer find the Sceptre adapter for this monitor on their web site, and this monitor is too old to accept digital DVI (HDCP) signals over the DVI port, much to my dismay.
But on to this product itself!
It is very nice length and build quality. A very sound purchase if you need a cable like this.
The only con I can think of is that my monitor along with this cable will only do 720p. The monitor says it supports 1080i and 1080p... but both of these resolutions, while perfectly viewable, causes the monitor to generate a floating "Out of Range" error box that cannot be cancelled. I don't know if that would be caused by the cable or just a compatibility issue with the signalling of the PS3 and my monitor (most likely).
Also the video is not very smooth. But I don't know if that's due to the cable or my monitor (again, I have a feeling that this feature was added as an afterthought to this monitor).
