can I get pin-out of cable?
A shopper
on Jun 23, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I don't understand, what you mean, by pin-out?? If I can understand what you mean, I may be able to answer your question. But this is just an extension cable and they are really good cables, I have several of them and have had for years.

Standard TRS audio cable, the tips and rings are connected and the sleeve is connected to eachother and the cable's shield. So typically left/right channel are on the tip and ring while the sleeve provides a common reference.

Just a straight through TRS cable. Tip to tip, ring to ring, sleeve to sleeve.

is this compatible with Iphone?
A shopper
on Apr 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: In a certain way, yes. If you have an IPhone with a 3.5mm jack and only need the audio part, then it will be fine. The 3.5mm stereo jack is also referred to as a TRS type connector. (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) This refers to the conductor/connection points on the plug, so three total. The iPhone has a TRRS (Tip, Ring, Ring, sleeve). 4 total. It uses the extra conductor/connection point typically for data/control. So if you have one of the headphone cables that has the controller on it, the extra control wire is connected using the extra connection, but still allows all standard 3.5mm TRS connectors to work properly with just the audio.

Yes and No, It will work for headhones (audio left & right) but is male on both ends so it is not an headphone extender!
The iPhone has a microphone input so a fully functional cable would have T,R,R,S - (4 conductor) this cable is just T,R,S. - (3 conductor).
It is great to fit with a case on your phone, mine is wired into a piece of equipment on the other end.

The cable that came with our monoprice headphones broke at the plug after months of hard use. Will this work as a replacement? We use them with a Android phone, laptop and television.

BEST ANSWER: It is a stereo cable, so it would work for audio only. Since you are using it with a phone/laptop, will you want it to carry the microphone signal also? If so, you would need a TRRS cable such as Product ID 18632.

It will work as an extension. The size did not fit the smaller fitting on the headphones. I have JBL and Sony headphones. Good question!

Can you unscrew the housing on the connector? Most TRS cables don't fit the small slot on my headphones. I'd have to unscrew/remove that silver housing for the cable to fit. Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
This cables design would not allow for you to unscrew the connector's housing.

Maybe the onyx would do but unscrewing is not best for this model.. You can indeed unscrew the grey gunmetal shell on this cable., but you are probably giving up lots of durability and some shielding. I can see why the staff did not recommend this. MIsusing a cable this way and then filing a warranty claim would be very dishonorable.

Great Cable For My Use
This cable works like it should. I use it to connect my laptop computer to my drum module. I began by using Bluetooth, but the connection wasn't steady. I decided to go hardwire. This cable works great for me. I have no issues with the cable. I would recommend this cable to anyone wanting to make a solid wired connection.

Expected better
These are the first audio cables I've purchased from Monoprice where I was not thoroughly impressed and satisfied. They look really solid and well-made but the performance was extremely disappointing. Two main issues present - (1) the 3.5 mm connector falls out of the device attached with no effort and (2) the sound quality was the absolute worst - terrible static and low volume level. The cables are much heavier quality than any I've had before and likely the weight of them combined with the poor connector was the reason they won't stay in the device. Typically, I have to give an audio cable a serious jerk to have it pull out. These drop out on their own.

3.5 mm plug is out of spec (too small) - doesn't work in most devices
Every single "Designed for Mobile 3.5mm" product I have purchased from Monoprice has been out of spec and does not actually work with most 3.5mm (1/8") jacks. "Designed for Mobile 3.5mm" doesn't actually work in most phones I test it in. The device doesn't detect that anything is plugged in, the plug is too small and doesn't engage. On the few devices it does work on, it is barely held by the jack, and any tiny jiggle causes it to disconnect or fall out.
I love the design of this product if only it actually worked.
I'll be getting a refund.

Excellent aux cord.
This is my second purchase of this product and I'd happily buy another if a third length or a duplicate length would be useful. It does what it is supposed to do and does it very well. The male plugs fit snugly and securely without being difficult to plug in. The cord is reassuringly hefty for its size and the sleeving retains very little of the bends and kinks from storage and shipping. I would absolutely recommend this.

Review of 3.5mm male-to-male stereo cables
Purchased four 3.5mm stereo male-to-male cables, two each of 3-foot and 10-foot versions. Found they are high-quality and worked perfectly.
Too bad, Monoprice run out of the 6 foot version. May need to order them later when they are back in stock.
Otherwise, great price for a wonderful and useful product.

Solid and good looking
Can't say anything about longevity yet but they are nice. They seem beefy and solid. I'm not afraid of hurting them like some cables you get. The input jacks aren't all bulky at the tip so they hit on cases and such.
