While planning for a product demo requiring a DVI connection to a controller chassis with a single board computer console output, we discovered we needed a 40 foot cable run to the display. HDMI would not work without extra "gadgets" to inject power onto the cable to make the built-in repeaters work and the DVI-HDMI adapters at both ends. This cable did the trick! DVI to DVI at 1080P resolutions over 50 feet was no problem. Note that the heavier wire gauge needed for the long run makes the cable surprisingly stiff and heavy kind of like an audio snake. However, it uncoils nicely and lays flat making it great for use in a cable tray or large conduit. Its large size though makes it unsuitable for hanging without adequate support
PROS: Well constructed.
CONS: Heavier and stiffer than I expected not really a "con"
Cable is great, I was confused at first as I could not get 2560x1600 to come up as an option on my video card, fortunately all I did was insert it into the single-link dvi port instead of the dual-link dvi port. Looks great.. Working w/ Radeon HD6870 (sapphire) to a HP ZR30w.
PROS: Cable works at 2560x1600! (for me)
CONS: Cables are a bit thick and hard to manage, but what do you expect for 50' DVI!
