The tip and the first ring are coupled internally, the other ring is the ground

Could this adapter be used to turn an insert channel on a mixer into an RCA audio output?
Bret A
on Apr 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If your insert channel is bidirectional (in and out) I'd say yes. If it's just an input to the mix bus then using an adapter won't convert iy to an output. Really depends on your mixer.

It can't turn an input into an output. You'd have to rewire the mixer for that. It just converts the signal for the appropriate connector type.

Use With Care!!
This is to be used as a SPLITTER, NOT A COMBINER!!
In other words, use this to take Monophonic RCA male OUTPUT plug to feed a Stereo 1/4 inch female INPUT socket (which are really only found on professional equipment).
If you use it in reverse (a Combiner, like most people will), you are putting a very low impedance across your stereo outputs which is a big No-No!!! (basically feeding the right channel into the left channel and vise versa!). It?s not a war which likes to be won!!

Looks Good But Didn't Work
Unfortunately these did not work for adapting cord from computer to Sound Board. Hoping to find a use for them in another spot.

Works great!
These were exactly what I needed to connect the RCA output from my turntable to my mixer! Works and sounds great with a very firm connection on both ends.

Go for it!!!
Works great!! Gold connectors are nice especially after they are in use in a high humidity environment. Look at the long term and you easily understand in 5 years it's one less connection to worry about!
