PROS: Adequate for a variety of keystones
High quality plastic
CONS: Screws provided are not typical machine screws for 2-gang LV box
After seeing the dozens of reviews stating VERY CLEARLY some extremely glaring problems with the product, I'm starting to suspect that Monoprice has no intention of fixing this problem until their current stock of this crap is depleted. So until they get off their butts, don't expect what you get in the mail to be any different than what everyone else here has experienced.
PROS: After reading all the reviews you get exactly what you're expecting.
CONS: You actually CAN fit the ethernet keystones on top of one another, BUT you have to remove the punch down caps, and even then you will have a tremendously difficult time trying to remove the keystones if you ever want to because their is no room for the keystones to rotate vertically, and thus you are forced to just bend everything to get them out.
You need to buy your own 6 wall plate screws, either 1/2 inch or 1 inch, because as others have said, the screws that come with it are not long enough (they're only 1/4 inch). They stick out only a millimeter or two after passing the wall plate and the keystone insert.
The keystone insert does not sit completely sturdy in the wall plate, it has a minor degree of bend to it when touching it or plugging stuff in.
No idea why they included wood screws, complete waste, don't try to use them at all or you'll risk damaging the threads on the plate.
CONS: Can't use 6 RJ45 keystone couplers
PROS: Works great, has high quality metal screw inserts.
If your having issues with the install try starting by installing the jacks from the side that the clip locks into moving your way down. This way you can lock the first jack in and you'll still have room to angle the second and third one in such a way that they'll just clip in.
PROS: Easy to Install
PROS: If you are looking to add RJ45 ports to the wall, this is unfortunately the only way of doing it with any degree of density.
CONS: If you are looking to add RJ45 ports to the wall, this is unfortunately the only way of doing it with any degree of density.
PROS: Works great. And it's sooo much cheaper from monoprice than anywhere else!
PROS: Works. Fits standard boxes. Adequately strong and flexible material.
However, the threading on the inserts was terrible, where the plates attach to the inserts with short painted bolts. I ordered a bunch of these, and about 10% of the threads were great, and the screws going through the plate and into the inserts went in as intended. The rest ranged from "I think I'm actually creating new threading while I'm forcing this in" to "I need to go buy a threading tool and re-do this", and the latter is what I had to do for most.
Someone in quality control fell asleep at the wheel this time around, but luckily they can be easily fixed quality threading and the correct screws!
*"Decora" style inserts work with waterproof covers
CONS: *Screws are junk
*Threads are junk
