Is it sturdy or wabble do I need to put in a support?
A shopper
on May 3, 2022
BEST ANSWER: It's sturdy enough. It moves a little bit but I have no problems (I have it on a carpeted floor). Right now it's holding a 27 inch monitor, laptop, keyboard, and audio interface just fine. I had a pair of small monitor speakers on the top shelf but moved them to stands because the monitor on the bottome shelf blocked them.

I have mine on carpet with a 27" iMac and a second monitor next to it on the top shelf and it is more than sturdy enough for me. I was a little surprised actually.

Is this the same desk as the Sweetwater desk? They look identical. Sweetwaters desk is called On Stage and this one is Stage Right.
William D.
on Jan 5, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Same deaign but shirter width. I believe this one is shorter width at 31” vs 43” wide on the sweet water. I found that it might be a little tight using a full-size keyboard on that drawer and mouse but I ended up using short Apple KB with no numpad and a wireless mouse and it fits fine. I think the price difference really doesn’t justify an extra $200. Also it fits snuggling into any area being it’s a smaller footprint.

They do look very similar to me too. I only own the Monoprice desk, but from the pictures, I do see one difference. The left and right sides of the Monoprice desk connect at the middle back using a solid piece of wood, but in the photos, the Sweetwater desk looks like it connects using a metal bar.
So far, I am extremely pleased with my Monoprice desk. Hope it helps.

Easy answer, no. It is smaller and cheaper made. I own the monoprice, my dad owns the sweet water desk. The sweet water desk is larger and sturdier. The monoprice desk is great for 60$ but it’s pretty shakey

Is the height adjustable?
A shopper
on Feb 23, 2022
BEST ANSWER: No. It is not height adjustable. There are no options as far as height/monitor stand height.
That being said, it's relatively perfect for what I needed it to do.
Check out the measurements/dimensions and see if those will suffice for your needs.

Between the shelf panel it is about 7 1/2 inches. However, the support braces come down to about 6 3/4. There is a gap of 23" between the support braces.

What size (piano) keyboard can fit on the upper portion i.e. 49,61, 88 keys?
New User U
on Apr 27, 2021
BEST ANSWER: 49 keys would fit in fully on the upper portion. However, you could still place a 61-key instrument with some portion of it extending beyond the left and right edges, and play without having to worry about the instrument falling off.

Great little desk!
Great desk for playing with my Korg opsix hooked up to my M2 MacBook Air.
One star knocked off because the instructions are terrible. The printed instructions don't match the online PDF instructions. Had to spend too much time figuring out how to build it.

Sturdy-enough desk. Some weird choices though
I bought this a while back, and the tools that come with it are really cheap to the point where I had metal shavings from the screwdriver in my workspace for a day or two ... but it's a pretty good desk! I use it as my secondary desk actually. I wish the keyboard tray was larger, too - it comes out so little that it's almost unusable (it is really only for a very small typing keyboard and possibly a tiny mousepad). Other than that it's a fine desk, and fits in almost anywhere.

Great value when built out
This is one of the only 30-inch-wide studio desks available - and by far the least expensive, especially when on sale. For very little additional cost, you can build it out to match much more pricey units and save a significant amount of desk space. The add-ons I used include:
- On-Stage WSA7500 2U Under-desk rack mount with Monoprice 14-outlet rack surge protector and a rack-mounted shelf. When all this is attached beneath the top surface of this desk, there is still enough room for effects pedals and modules like the Behringer Model D underneath on the bottom
- Gator Frameworks clamp-on monitor stands for elevating speakers
- a basic kitchen pantry storage shelf to hold a laptop over a mixer and audio interface
- an Arturia Keystep midi controller that fits perfectly in the sliding drawer

In spite of the "instructions".....
Well let's start with the bad... the directions are pretty much non-existent. You get a piece of paper that has some illustrations but no actual worded instructions. That said I figured it out and I imagine most will. As for the overall product I am happy with it thus far and definitely was worth the price I paid. Would recommend.

Nice compact desk
This desk is functional for someone that is a beginner, learning audio production. It does not consume a lot of space. I currently have my 2 monitors, audio interface, MacBook Pro, and condenser microphone on the desk. The only negative would be the installment instructions. I believe they weren't as detailed as needed.

Overall, Rather Impressed
Because the quality of most small furniture has gone downhill drastically in recent years, this was a pleasant surprise. I would rate this in quality as above average or very good. I was expecting the very basics of a mini computer desk at this price point. However, the wood pieces and the frame itself was definitely of higher quality than other furniture I have purchased online and assembled.
Instructions could be slightly better because there are only small diagrams without any written instructions. Perhaps including a link to an online assembly video would be nice, but I did not have any trouble assembling this. So I think the instructions are adequate.
Overall, definitely better quality than I expected. Very pleased with Monoprice brand products so far. Keep it up Monoprice!

Great little desk for tight spaces!
Great desk. It is small but fit perfectly in the space I have. It was easy to assemble (minus the keyboard tray) in about 20 minutes. I?m using it with a desktop PC and it?s good. If I was using my laptop, there wouldn?t be much room left after speakers and such. It is a great value for limited space applications. And it looks great!
