Is this guitar symmetrical? (If so, it can just be restrung left handed.)
A shopper
on Jan 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The body seems symmetrical, I can't see the bracing inside. The bridge is setup for right-handed and you may have intonation problems if you string it lefty. Also, the controls for the pickup and the tuner are on the top for a righty so flipping it would put them on the bottom. IMHO.

No, the bridge is set for right hand string placement. Also, the controls for the pickup and the jack input would be on the wrong side.

YEs, but the electronics controls will be on the bottom, and the jack on top. Great guitar though.

If you're asking if this could be played without connecting to a guitar amp, then yes, it can be played as a "regular" acoustic guitar as well as an electric guitar. So if your guitar amp were in the shop, you could play this in front of a stage microphone and let the sound be picked up that way. When your amplifier is fixed, then you can go back to using it as an electric guitar.

My calipers say 12-52. I'm surprised because I thought the E was closer to 9, but I check another guitar and my calipers measured correctly.

I purchased this as a gift so I cannot answer the question--I can say the guitar is very well made and looks and plays like an instrument many times more costly. Very happy with this.

What brand and make of strings are on this guitar. I own this guitar and my first one I bought puts out an incredibly powerful sound. The 2nd one I purchased as a gift, had a very weak, shallow sound, relative to the first guitar.
Wondering what BRAND & MAKE the strings are??..., as my first guitar is amazing to play.

Great buy
I got mine on sale for less that 80.00 delievered. The guitar has a nice weight to it, not too light. I'm happy with the onboard Fishman tuner and the tuners function smoothly and seem to hold a tune. The guitar sounds great and I"m showing all my friends cause I can't believe it. The only issue that I can see is that the frets could use some work. It's not a big issue to be since I'm not bending that strings. I'm mainly playing open chords. The action is great, no fret buzz.

Could have been a lot better
First off it is a beautiful guitar, no doubt about it, while it is playable it has issues. Fret sprout was awful! I took the guitar to a luthier to adjust the action it was still to high after the 3rd fret if I had bought this guitar at retail I would have sent it back. Now for the positive The Fishman works great and the gigbag was very nice. I bought the guitar for 79.00 on sale so it sits in the music room I wont play it but if a buddy stops by they can. I closing quality control needs to be improved this guitar should have never been allowed to leave the warehouse.

Excellent Quality.
I really Love this guitar. It has great tone and looks beautiful. The neck is straight and the fret work is very polished and smooth. I would love to have the same model but with a cut-away.

Awesome looking guitar, a keeper!
Arrived in two days. Package was rough with some holes, guitar is in great shape. Removed from package and was pleased at first sight with fir and finish. Way out of tune and was tuned down as it should have been for shipping. Neck looks straight and true, fret wires are a bit long but no sharp edges. So I tuned it up and was impressed with the tone. No Fret buzz and the intonation is perfect. I will however put a set of 9 gauge slinkies on it ASAP. Strings low on the neck and the neck plays wel and quick. The tone unpluged is very nice and loud even without a pick. Another home run on the part of Monoprice. My third guitar from Monoprice and all three are fine guitars after my guitar tech in town touches them up. Great folks to deal with. Been playing guitar for over 50 years and I own 15 guitars counting this puppy.

Well my first thoughts were that the wood grain pattern on the front of the guitar was very wild and nothing like the photo as shown in your add, I find my guitar rather unattractive. But even more troubling was the fact that it was unplayable the strings rubbed on the frets and I had to adjust the truss rod, I'm not trained to do this and I watched a video and it's sorta playable now and I probably will have to take it to a shop and pay someone to set it up

Excellent value.
This a beautiful guitar, I could find no flaws in the finish. It was set up pretty well out of the box. I had to relieve the neck slightly with the truss road but no other major adjustments were needed. The string action was nice and low and there were no rough fret ends. The sound is loud and bright. This feels and plays like a much more expensive guitar.

Good quality for the money but tuner is not good
Good value. Sounds very nice. The Fishman pickup sounds ok but the tuner does NOT turn off automatically and is not accurate. I've replaced the battery several times after forgetting to turn it off. Very annoying. The tuning accuracy is sketchy as it shows when each string is tuned but when playing chords, you can tell that some of the strings are flat. Using a separate clip-on tuner fixes both issues.
