I believe they are made in Indonesia but set up by a tech in California who does an excellent job. When I received mine I didn’t have to do anything. Theses are great guitars for the money.

How are the fret ends?
A shopper
on Apr 7, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I did have to file the fret ends. The upper frets were a little sharper than the lower ones but nothing a small file or sponge sanding block can't handle. Took about 10 minutes of time to get them comfortable.

They need a little work. A few minutes with a $5 sanding sponge from Home Depot ( I use 220 grit with very light pressure) and they are as good as my MX strats

I would recommend a light deburring /rounding on the fret ends to remove any sharp edges. I'm very happy with the quality of the guitar and neck for the price.

Fretboard radius?
A shopper
on Aug 8, 2020
12 inches at 12th and at 22nd. I'm an amateur with a set of radius gauges. Very confident that it's 12", as my 14 gauge rocked a little and my 10 gauge allowed light under the center.
I like the guitar very much.

Can I have this guitar painted White with a White Pick Guard and a single coil pickup by the bridge?
A shopper
on Oct 13, 2022
BEST ANSWER: As it is, the colors only come in black or blue. Can you paint the guitar white? Sure, why not. Can you place a single coil in place of the humbucker? Sure you can. But it defeats the purpose of buying an HSS. Get the white SSS instead to get what you really want.

Yes just go on line and you can get a pick guard ready to go with only to wires and a ground wire you need to cnnnect to the guitar input jack easy to with the pickups installed and tone and volume that are already mounted on the guard

Strip the hardware and sand down the body. You can use a good spray paint and a clear coat lacquer to finish it. Light sand it and buff it out. That should look great.

What is the nut width?
A shopper
on Feb 16, 2019
It's about 40.6mm 1.6") which is similar to the nut width on Fender Squier guitars. Most Strat style guitars are closer to 42mm, but if you're thinking of replacing the nut you can buy a standard Strat nut, center it, and sand a little on both edges to make the nut width match the neck size. I did this on a Squier guitar with no issues.

The coil leads are accessible, so splitting should be possible for the determined modder. The leads are pretty short, presenting a challenge. Haven't tried on mine.

BEST ANSWER: Swimming pool route on the one I received. There is a bit of wood intruding into the swimming pool for the upper pickguard screw between neck and middle pickups, but I think there is room for three full size humbuckers.
Pickguard is tucked under the fingerboard.
Unshielded cavity and pickguard. The guitar is not as noisy as I would expect though.

It's a swimming pool setup here. The rectangular tub for the pickups has one small intrusion; it's for the pickguard mounting screw that is near the middle and neck pickups. This rectangle joins a typically-shaped cavity for S-type guitars, and the elliptical cavity for the jack is also typical.

Zowie, what a deal!
Can't believe how much you get for such a low price. This was my second purchase and am very pleased with it. Just needed the initial setup with minor adjustments. A caveat: bought my first two Indios from Amazon and the first arrived in a box big enough for three guitars , no original box, with no packing material. Amazed that it wasn't damaged. Guess the gig bag saved it. The second had the factory box, but the bottom third was just hanging loose. Again, the gig bag saved the guitar from any major damage with only a small nick near the bottom.
I now purchase directly from Monoprice and have had no problems since.
While these are a very good deal, I recommend spending the little extra for the DLX models unless you are on the tightest of budgets. The upgraded hardware is worth the extra and it will cost less than upgrading the basic models. Of course, for some of us, upgrading is half of the fun in which case........
I have just started playing again after hanging up my guitars in the early eighties. Sold all of my old fenders and gibsons back then but did keep my 50 watt Marshall with the 8-10 stack! Bought it new in 1969! It still sounds great.
So, these guitars are a very good value. I have purchased new fenders (post cbs) that required more set-up than these.
So rock on, jazz on, or maybe polka on, hell have fun.

You just can't beat it for the price.
First of all, SUPER fast delivery! Guitar was packaged well. Nice case! Fit and finish are pretty good. Very few blemishes. I'll need to do some filing on the nut and fret edges, but an overall beautiful guitar. This will be a perfect guitar to upgrade hardware. A drop in pre-wired strat pickguard would be perfect for this. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Great!
Took some tuning and lowering of the strings but no fret work. If I ever use the wammy bar, I will have to remove some tension and get the bridge setup correctly to not damage the finish. It's a great sounding guitar for the price.

Perfect Frets
Disregard reviews of sharp or sprouted frets. This one was extremely both. The guitars are packed to stay dry. When the neck expands to humidity the frets are absolute perfection.
