Yes. If you're asking this question because of Darrell Braun's YouTube video, he purchased his off ebay and may have gotten a used unit that was returned without the whammy bar. I've ordered 3, two standards and a DLX with the Wilkinson, and they both came with all accessories.

Yes, but you need to bay spring (available on Amazon) to drop in the threaded hole to create preload so the whammy bar will stay where you want and firm all the time.

I assume this has passive pickups, not battery-requiring active pickups. Is my assumption correct?
A shopper
on Nov 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Correct, passive pickups, no battery required. The pickups have traditional single-coil sound but higher output. The neck PUP is deep and muscular, and the bridge pickup is strong, where they are usually wimpy in a ST-type guitar. The PUPs are one of the best features of my Cali Classic.

For $100 you can’t go wrong. I have 8 guitars and this plays just as well as the more expensive ones I have. The sound from the pick ups seems slightly less responsive but definitely not a huge setback. It was set up very nice when it came in the mail. It was actually fairly tuned as well. So I’m assuming someone at the factory actually physically checked it out before sending it. Wow! Who does that anymore? Great job mono price. Although I still consider this entry level guitar. I give two thumbs up.

i just purchased one this month. I don’t know who’s set it up. The guitar was playable but not set up to my standards. String height was inconsistent. Truss rod needed adjustment; neck relief had to much bow. The depth of the nut slots were inconsistent. I do my own set ups, so not a big deal for me. For $99 I think you get one heck of a guitar. If you buy one and it’s like mine, it will need some setup work.

My guess is yes, it is hard to tell. Its got some weight to it which I like. You will eventually need to upgrade it likely with new tuners and nut. But this is after time, not immediate. I decided on this one because of this youtube video https://youtu.be/9SCkJlLeIZE and his followup video. I figured it would be a great learning experience. Hope it helps.

How big is the guitar? in inches
A shopper
on May 5, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I believe the overall length is 39 inches with a 22 fret, 25.5 inch scale length fretboard. It is an industry full size guitar. For its price it is a good value and a great sounding guitar. I love mine..I also recommend the monoprice stage right 40 watt amplifier. It is a great sounding amp that can even be used for a small gig with drums.

I am a customer, so this answer is based on my experience, my research, and just what I could surmise. I personally believe that the fretboard is real rosewood. Traditional Brazilian rosewood is restricted. I believe this is Indian Rosewood that has been dyed to hide the appearance of the grain. Personally, I would prefer it if they showed the woodgrain, but that's me. In my opinion, they use black dye because it works best and can give the impression of ebony.

Yes the fretboard is made of rosewood and it has medium sized frets. You will however have to do some fret work on it. Such as filing and polishing. If you can't do this yourself then you can take it to any reputable guitar shop and have them do a complete setup on this guitar. They usually charge 35.00 to 50.00 to do this but well worth it as they will adjust your string height as well as the fret work. Thank you,Gary

Are the necks on all the Cali Classics the same shape (obvious some are rosewood and others maple)? The white one I just received has a pretty thick neck (Almost a thicker U), but a reviewer for the blue version notes a very thin neck. I'd prefer a Modern C neck like on the DLX and was wondering if a different color would give me that.

I took a chance and ordered a Sunburst as my first Monoprice guitar. I'm so happy with it, and I must say that it has about the very best neck size and shape I've ever played. I am hedging about buying a White one because I'm afraid the neck won't have that same feel. Hope that returning it if it doesn't is not a problem, because I want to be as happy as I was with the Sunburst.

Does anybody know what type or size for the bridge/saddle screws? I'll like to get some replacements as I lowered the action, but need to know the diameter/type.
I suspect they might equivalent to saddle/bridge height screws available elsewhere that are M3 threaded size and 10mm high/tall, so I am thinking of getting M3's that are 8mm. If possible, let me know what size and type they are. Thanks.

Playable, good price, not pro
I'm playing Rocksmith with mine. Clearly it does not get along well with Rocksmith but overall the guitar is playable.
Mine wasn't well set up. Action is a bit high and this causes the certain strings to play out of tune, mainly the low e on the first few frets due to high action at the nut.
Intonation has also been a problem. I re-intonated it once but after changing strings it went out again. For me hand tools and guitars don't mix so it's going to wait until I feel determined enough to fiddle with it.
If you're not comfortable spending $50 or more getting the guitar set up you might want to pass unless you can do a setup yourself. If you add in the cost of a setup the guitar is far less of a bargain.
I got the orange burst with a black pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard. TBH, I don't like the appearance much. I wanted the blue burst but it didn't seem to be available when I ordered. It's now sold under a separate listing at a slightly higher price.
The neck is fatter than my old guitar and the back of the neck feels slightly gritty. My fret hand thumb gets sore as a result where it rubs the neck and also seems slightly more susceptible to hangnails.
String spacing is a bit narrow for my fat fingertips. I was going to send it back because of this but the RMA period expired before I got to it.
It's an okay guitar at a very good price. The included gig bag and cord are nice extras. I can't complain much considering what I paid for it but eventually I hope to replace it with something more professional.

Indio Classic - Not Great!!
Can?t keep the guitar in tune. Changed all the strings to better quality ?Ernie Ball?, but still goes out of tune. Also, can?t get intonation correct, and several strings buzz quite a bit.
For the price, not bad, but if you?re looking for any quality, look elsewhere.

Nice Guitar - Especially for the Price
It's a nice guitar. My only complaint is that the nut height was very high out of the box, so I had to file the slots down to make it playable. If you don't want to deal with setup, get one of the slightly more expensive Monoprice guitars that comes setup out of the box. For the price though, this is a very nice instrument and I'm happy with it.

I HAVE USED IT TWICE IN REHEARSALS AND CAN'T BELIEVE HOW NICE IT PLAYS. GOOD BALANCE AND THE TONES ARE REALLY GOOD. I MAY GET ANOTHER MODEL TO TRY. THIS HAS THE FEEL AND PLAYABILITY OF A FENDER STRAT. FOR THE MONEY IT IS A GOOD PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT AND REALLY HAVE NO DISLIKES FOR IT.
