There are many ways to wire up HSS. Does anyone know how these are wired?

BEST ANSWER: Its just a 5 way switch - full humbucker in position 1, humbucker and middle in position 2, middle in 3, middle and neck in 4 and neck in 5.
There is no coil split in the HB - and its a 2 wire (not 4 conductor) so you couldn't split it with a push pull if you wanted to.
You could replace the HB with a 4 conductor pickup and install a push pull if you wanted.

Wish I could help. It was a present for my brother and I haven't looked at it. And he isn't technically savvy.

Can anyone tell me how the guitar was packaged in the box? What items were wrapped or covered? i.e., was there cardboard or foam on the pickups? On the fret board? anywhere else? Etc. Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: this instrument came professionally packaged for shipping. it was inside of a padded gig bag. inside that, the guitar itself was wrapped in a thin foam fabric sheet, the strings were detuned and wrapped in thin paper. the switch tip had thick closed cell foam over it. the tremolo arm was removed and in a separate bag. protective plastic over the pickguard and pickups. the entire setup was placed inside of one of those triangular guitar boxes with anti shift support and plenty of protection.

It seemed very well packaged and arrived in great shape for me - I think the main thing is that it is packed inside an outer box plus it is then inside the gig bag which has good padding and protection. And then it had plastic wrapping on many of the shiny parts and some paper/foam material on the fretboard

Mine was shipped with only the white bag over the guitar inside the gig bag. No paper or cardboard around strings or pick ups. I seen videos of more packaging but mine only had white bag..

Pretty good entry-level guitar.
Decent quality overall, but the tuners are weak and needed to be replaced.

I would buy this again. I like it better than the deluxe classic.
A nice guitar for the price. Fun to hack around on,

Wow, this thing rocks
WOW. I am floored by this inexpensive guitar. It played right out of the box. no buzzing and pretty decent action. I swapped the strings and oiled the fretboard, now its even better. Humbucker is a little bright and hot but it all works well and stays in tune. Amazing. The finish and fit are decent too and I even got some decent flame in my maple neck. I couldn't be happier. For the cash this is a great little practice axe. * I own over 20 high end guitars and this cheap one is a lot of fun to play.. Nice job

The good and not so good
It looks and feels fine, but there is a noticeable difference in the pickups and hardware on the Cali versus the Deluxe plus. It is worth the extra bit of money to get the Wilkinson hardware and pickups on the Deluxe plus. Once the pickups are swapped out, it should sound and play nice.

Budget guitar
Can't complain for what I payed $70 with tax. It's a nice guitar ?? with descent pick up's and hardware. Needs a good setup but other than that it's a fun instrument and came with a gig bag.

It's ok.
It came damaged and the guitar did no came with a professional setup. You need to spend more than the value of the guitar with a professional setup.
