This is a great microphone shock mount. It's replacing my old Sennheiser shock mount that was destroyed in a tragic "under the tire" incident.

I had been searching for a shock mount with a built-in pop filter and found this one at a great price on sale here at Monoprice. The only problem was this: the threaded ring is attached to the bottom of the shock mount, so unless the threaded portion of your mic extends well below the mic's body, this mount wouldn't work. However, I took a chance and ordered anyway, expecting that I might be able to pop the built-in ring loose from the bottom using a large flat screwdriver. After doing just that, I was able to use this mount with several of my MXL mics (CR24, 2001, 2003A, etc.), and it worked great! Just be aware that when you're prying the attached ring loose, you may damage the black powder-coating slightly. So take care not to do any more damage than necessary. I've attached a picture here of the mount with my MXL CR-24.

Great quality, and a great price.

No issues with the Shock Mount itself, but the Pop Filter is only functional if your mic is the exact right length. the filter is welded in place on the mount, as is the mount's attachment point, so it limits you ability to adjust the filter location to only one axis. For the case of my AT-2020, to use the pop filter, the mic has to be mounted "backwards", outside of the Shock Mount cage, or the Pop Filter provides no protection. It will work that way, but with the new center of gravity, the mic wobbles like crazy with even the slightest movement of my desk.

The mounting ring for this mic holder does not work with my large diaphragm condenser mic. The ring is not removable, which is too bad because I could make the ring that came with the condenser mic work if I could get the existing ring off of the mount. To work properly, the mounting ring must extend up into the bottom of the mic to connect to the mounting threads. This ring is flat, and does not extend up onto the mounting hole.

The design makes it unusable.

The shock mount part appears to be OK, but I can't vouch for it since I can't set up the mic.

Solid product and good value, but doesn't work for my Blue Yeti mic. The mounting ring is too small and isn't adjustable like some other shock mounts. That was my main purpose, so it's going to be sitting in a box for a while. I should have measured before ordering. I'll eventually get another decent USB mic I can use with the shock mount, but a little disappointed.
