BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes, you can connect the 6-zone and the 4-zone amps using the expansion cable. However, the controllers with the 4-zone are newer and do not work with the 6-zone, and vice versa.

I bought two of these specifically so I could have a 10 room whole house layout. The special cable llows you to daisy-chain units.

Yes, I have two running six speakers though. Each speaker has 2 distinct inputs but it works perfectly bridged.

Yes, you can play any of the 6 sources on any zone independently, you would just need to have multiple music sources connected to the inputs.

Yes, you can play a different source in each zone. You need to have a "source" (Ipad, Phone, streamer, TV, ETC.) and play one in each zone.

No. The keypads are analog and the address is determined by a set of physical jumpers.

How do the multiple remotes connect? Are they daisy chained together? It looks like there is only one port in the back of the amplifier for this purpose.

The expansion connection is meant to set up a master/slave combination and with this, you would set up more wall plate controls, but it will still only be the 6 sources. Other than the 2 extra zones, is there any difference between this unit and the 6 zone? I had the 6 zone, and I was really happy with it, but it had water spilled on it. I don't really need all 6 zones and I'm making sure I'd be happy with this one.

BEST ANSWER: The 4-zone one appears to have 2 CAT5/6 inputs to use with the Bluetooth or Wifi Multizone Sources. The 6-zone appears to only have RCA, 3.5mm and toslink input so you'll need the converter boxes to include these as sources.
