The Tilt range for the older model is '+10°/‑5°', for this one (non-electric) it's stated as '-3/-9 degrees'. What does this mean? Does it mean it's not possible to tilt the screen down so it's better viewable from below?

BEST ANSWER: There is no adjustable tilt on this mount. However, it probably is about -9 when folded into the wall. So it does point down always. It has almost no tilt when extended out.

The tilt seems to be fixed. It tilts more as you lift up to make it easier to see the tv at the higher level. It is basically flat at the lowest level. Have tried adjusting but it is fixed.

It tilts and swivels. Please check the installation video on the monoprice product page. It shows how the mount moves up-down, swivels right-left and tilts when in static position

How do you adjust the level tilt on the non-motorized version? The manual says it has +/- 3 degrees of level tilt however when I try to manually adjust it, it doesn’t seem to move at all.

BEST ANSWER: Same experience here. Pretty annoying to find this out after you've installed the whole thing. A couple things though. 3 degrees is not a lot of tilt anyway, it's practically nothing, so not much of a loss here if 3 degrees up/down was the expectation. Also, technically the screen does tilt down by quite a bit more than 3 degrees when it's pushed fully against the wall. You don't have any choice in the matter, but there is technically tilt that is occurring.

It doesnt adjust. You will notice that the tilt happens as you move the unit up and down. It should have been stated that the tilt is built in

In my case it moves once TV is on the mount and you move the TV left-right (swivel) or sideways (tilt) in addition to the up down motion.

BEST ANSWER: When i was remodeling the living room i ran romex wire, junction box center of the mantle about 6" above on on it's horizontal side. The HDMI cables i went up the left side of mantle and fished them just right above the mantle and used a chair rail trim piece and the dado edge at bottom for a chase then a small hole just enough room for both cables about 2' in then came above chair rail with enough cable to reach the TV. I do not have pics at this time.

BEST ANSWER: It is a bit hard (not too hard though) to pull down. It doesn't snap back though.
I have hired a tech to install the TV wall mount. I remember he mentioned that how tight you install it might make it hard to pull down. I wasn't worried much though

Can you attach a soundbar to this at all?
A shopper
on Aug 20, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Yes I have purchased a separate soundbar mount and attached to my TV below this mount. Just make sure you check where the screw position is on your soundbar and purchase mount accordingly. In my case the screw was at the bottom hence had to get mount that supports screws at the bottom. Check my review for pictures as I cannot attach pictures on response to questions.

How long are the bolts that come with this? My fireplace has about 1.5" thick ledge stone veneer, then drywall, then the studs / blocking.

Works as advertised and is easy to put up and down. Its holding my 75" tv with no issues. I was slightly disappointed in the ability to adjust the height of the tv on the mounting bracket. Sadly the tv i purchased only has mounting bolts on the bottom portion and consequently i cannot hide the wall mounting details when the tv is in the up position.

Excellent value for money
The materials provided are of high quality and I was able to assemble the whole thing easily by following the instructions and the Youtube video from Monorpice.
Pros:
1) Easy installation however the mount is very heavy and would need 2 persons to install it.
2) Easy to bring the TV to down position
3) Customizable positioning to ensure that TV is centered to the wall. In my case the stud was not perfectly centered but I managed to position TV in the center.
4) Good cable management
5) All tools come in the box which is handy
6) In my case my TV had speakers at the bottom and the handle to move TV up and down didnt fit but the package came with circular adjustor to build a gap between TV and the mount which helped solve the problem
7) In addition to going up and down it tilts as well as swivels like other mounts.
8) Excellent overall quality and I was impressed with the overall well thought through design which can suit any TV.
Cons:
1) Need to apply a little bit of pressure to move the TV up
2) Doesnt have soundbar connection. I had to purchase a separate soundbar mount
3) It comes out almost 2 feet (away from the wall) when in down position. I wish there was a solution which will keep the TV within 6 inches of the wall and can still go up and down.
4) There is ratcheting wrench in the box to adjust the weight on the mount however there is a no socket to use the same wrench for tightening screws on the wall. That would be very useful and would speed up installation
5) Wish it came in white color as my home has light walls and white would make it invisible.

great quality, but no tilt
really well made. was impressed with the quality of the materials and fitment.
However, I was disappointed for no tilt adjustment capability. The tilt is static and uses stand-off adapters that may or may not fit your TV. Upper position tilts more, while when lowered TV is more upright, actually works better in my case but might be an issue for other situations.

Solid Pull Down TV Mount
This mount is what it says. It is not hard to put together. It looks heavy duty and I have had no problems with it so far. I have only 2 real complaints. The first is that it is pretty easy to tilt it when pulling it down, so being able to lock that degree of freedom would be nice - I suppose I could really torque down on the bolts of that mechanism, but I wouldn't think it wise.
The second is that the instructions specify a minimum mount height based on the mantel depth, but those minimum heights are very conservative. The instructions make it seem like any lower will result in the arm hitting the mantel. But it is not that - it appears to be a guarantee for your handle or the back frame that connects to the VESA threaded inserts on the TV to not hit the mantel. The handle extends down from the back of the TV, and its height is adjustable. So unless your TV has a very low placement for it's VESA inserts, it's very likely that you'll install the mount and find you have tons of clearance to the mantel. That's not a problem, but I don't have tall ceilings, and placing it at their recommended height resulted in my TV literally hitting the ceiling. When I measured the arm's distance to the mantle when pulled down the farthest it goes, I found I had 200 mm to spare. So you have that amount of distance to play with for the handle. I moved the mount down 125 mm and have about an inch or two of clearance to the handle over the mantel when I set the handle to be relatively near the TV. Basically, there's no easy way to say the working location envelope you'll have for TV, but I would say if you do some quick calculations and find that you''ll have a TV at the ceiling when using their recommended values, you should simply mount it lower, give yourself maybe 2 or 3 inches of height above the mantle, and you should be good..
Also, the ratchet they sent with it broke before I could even use it.
Otherwise, the mount is silent, adjusts easily, and seems quite sturdy.

not bad
Note: all other reviews for this are currently re: the motorized version. This is for the manual version.
Instructions challenging. Almost no text explanations. Couple of points reeeally had me scratching my head. Also, bolts that go into studs can easily strip via Phillips head - suggest hex driver (luckily, dual use bolts). Also, though it shows using included ratchet tightening these - said ratchet does NOT include that size socket.
Protip - when finally attaching display, re: lower securing clips - tightening screw must be FULLY removed, the clips flipped down, hang display carefully, THEN flip lower clips back up & replace tightening screw. (re: difficult directions)
Sucker is heavy. Heavier than the 70" I mounted. DEFINITELY two person minimum for install.
While I haven't monkeyed with the raising/lowering mechanism tons yet, it seems quite stiff. Will fine tune & report differently if it dramatically changes soon. But, as it stands, it will be raised / lowered VERY infrequently due to that. I got good grabs on both studs with the included bolts.... but yeesh. Pushing up anyway puts quite a bit of stress on the unit (i.e. - not the weight of the TV, but the stiffness of the mechanism).
Otherwise - seems great! Wish it lowered even more, but guessing the engineering (/sprung counterweight action) of the mechanism wouldn't allow.
Machining / fit & finish of the unit itself quite well done.
Would purchase again, but refinement is definitely possible!
