Can you fit albums on the bottom shelf?
A shopper
on Mar 19, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I measure 13" between bottom of middle shelf and top of bottom shelf. LP jackets run ~12.375" squared. Fat fingers might have a squeeze to pluck albums from the top.

Albums will fit very nicely, but they will go back six inches from the front edge.

Can the top shelf be eliminated, resulting in a two shelf stand?
A shopper
on Apr 19, 2023
BEST ANSWER: you do the assembly yourself, I assume you can assemble however you want if you only desire the bottom two, you can just put those together without the top. All the parts and pieces are separate, so you pretty much have free will.

No, I think it's very useful for those who use a turntable or laptop at the top of the rack.

It should be doable. Use the bolts that attach the top tier on the middle shelf.

Can this support a 55” tv without the center supports installed on either level?
A shopper
on Mar 21, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I have a less than 50" tv and I skipped the center support on the top. The good news is the you can position the supports that you do not use anywhere you want is you skip the bolts: and you can favor the rear when mounting the TV. I have my center speaker in the middle of the top shelf and put the support just behind it. The shelves are pretty solid. They are most of the 80lb weight of the product
This my not apply to you, but may help some others.

I really like the looks of this. It would fill my need perfectly if it only had casters. I must have casters. Do you have a set of casters that will work with it?

Can this support a 55” TV without the center supports installed?
Robert G
on Mar 21, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I'm gonna say yes because the TV weighs nothing compared to what this piece can hold. I have 200 plus pounds on top and middle shelves. I've also built mine backward reversing the top and bottom layout for my audio equipment. Now my caveat... I won't ever endorse using something not how it was designed to be used.... so modify at your own risk.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Since the stand was not meant to be used with casters, we would not have information on casters that may possibly work with this.

Very good basic AV stand...with one problem
First, this stand is basically as advertised. All parts are present, and it is reasonably simple to assemble. The only "problem" I have with this stand, is that it does not have casters available for it. After-market M-8/1.25 metric threaded casters will replace the provided slide plugs, but all 6 plastic receptacles for the after-market casters pop out of the legs if you try to move it with components on the stand, and with the stock slides replaced by casters. This cannot be considered a design flaw as the stand was not designed for casters to begin with.
I gave this cabinet 5 stars because it works very well within its design parameters.

Fantastic Value
For the price, these stands are fantastic as they are extremely easy to put together and can hold a ton of weight. At ~30" tall, it was simply too tall for my intended purpose; however, I also purchase the 4 shelf component stand and used the 8.9" long tubes from both stands to lower the overall height. I also purchased 8mm threaded leveling feet with 2" washers from a local store to lower the overall height of this stand to ~22". I wish Monoprice sold the tubes separately as that would have avoided my purchase of a separate 4 shelf stand; however, for the price paid (on sale) for both stands, leveling feet and washers, I still feel these are a fantastic value. Thus far, I have zero complaints and zero regrets.

Monoprice nailed it.
Extremely pleased with how well this stand turned out. Was hesitant because usually deals this good are a little too good to be true. Not the case with this item!!!!! ZERO wobbles!!! Very sleek. Very Simple to put together. Could not be more pleased with it.

All you need!
Heavy gauge posts and shelves. Solid. Posts would be difficult to fill with any dampening material, but don't notice or sense any ringing or vibration in the unit. Very easy to assemble.

Nicer than I thought, strong value!
Finish on all parts is nicer than expected. Assembled easily. No tricks used, but I did tightly affix all cylinders in place (slightly jiggled them as I screwed them into position -- my unit was perfectly level when done). I bought 1" circular furniture sliders (that work on carpet) and put 'em on the leg bottoms and it moves well enough. Can't see the sliders, so win-win. And you can store albums on the bottom shelves, too, if that's your desire.

Heavy duty for heavy gear
A+ for looks and strength. I use it in my recording studio to hold two very heavy reel-to-reel tape machines. Went together in a snap.
