With the stand attached and the monitor at its lowest point, how tall is the monitor? I have a shelf that this needs to fit under, so I just need to know how low it can get.

BEST ANSWER: With the monitor at the lowest possible setting but attached to the stand, the top of the monitor is about 16 1/2 inches above the desk. That's a very low setup for the monitor--the bottom is barely above the desk--so I'd not necessarily say it's the setting you'd want to use.

How does the USB hub work? Do the downstream ports take input exclusively from the type B input, or if connected, the USB C? What USB version is supported (2, 3)?

BEST ANSWER: The Hub is USB 2.0. If you are connecting the monitor to your computer via the included USB-C cable, you can use the hub with no other cables. If you are connecting the monitor using HDMI or DisplayPort, you will need to connect the hub to your computer using a separate USB host adapter cord (with is also included).

Is there any way to "reset" this monitor? I have 2 of these connected to my Mac Studio (2022) using USB-C cables and they were working fine. I briefly disconnected these and connected them to a MacBook Pro 16" (2019). They appeared to work fine with the MacBook. However when I plugged them back into my Studio one of the monitors is black. The power light is amber, the setting buttons on the bottom of the screen don't work, but a USB-A mouse plugged into the monitor does work when the monitor is connected to my Studio. I tried a second USB-C, but that didn't work. If I use a USB-C to HDMI adapter with an HDMI cable that seems to work, as well as if I use the Studio's built in HDMI port. So, somehow, the act of unplugging | plugging in a different computer | re-plugging in the original computer has caused the USB-C port on the monitor to stop working (at least in terms of video as the USB hub still appears to work. Thanks! Brian

Excellent monitor for the price
I have been working remote since covid started. I bought the Dark Matter by Monoprice 34in Curved Ultra-Wide Gaming Monitor - 1500R, 21:9, 3440x1440p, UWQHD, 144Hz, DisplayHDR 400, AMD FreeSync monitor early on in the covid pandemic and have really loved it. I had to return my two monitors that my company provided since I migrated back to the office and needed another good quality monitor at home to supplement the 34in monitor. This one exceeds my expectations. Works great, outstanding value for the money. Works as well as the more expensive monitors that I've used in the past.

Almost Perfect For My Needs
It suits my needs perfectly for displaying business apps, general browsing, watching videos, etc. I am not a gamer or graphic artist. The display is brighter than expected - I had to back off the brightness considerably from the preset. The speakers are good enough for business use, but I recommend a sound system/desktop speakers for any videos over a minute or two. The adjustable stand is the best I've ever used.
I do wish that the included HDMI cable and the cable between the power brick and the input jack on the monitor were longer so that the power brick could more easily be placed out of sight.

Great Monitor for the Price, Especially for Macs
I have a Apple Studio Display at work. I didn't want to spend the money for another one at home. I found this little gem, and am completely satisfied with it. I was a little concerned about the connectivity before purchasing because the description, specs and reviews didn't really cover the connectivity from an Apple perspective.
Connectivity: The included USB-C cable is all you need. It outputs 4K@60fps. I'm really happy with that. The monitor does keep my MacBook Pro charged. It only outputs 60 watts, which is much less than the charger I received with my 16" MBP. But I haven't had any issue with the less wattage going to the laptop. I'm running a 2021 16" MBP M1 Pro.
Sound: The speakers are horrible! Just plain bad. To be honest, I don't even know why they included them in the monitor. It would have been better to not include them and drop the price $20 or so. If you do want to use them, they can be selected as the output device, but you can't control the volume from the OS. The volume is solely controlled from the On Screen Display. A really poor choice.
Color: The color was not great out of the box. It took me a couple weeks to get everything setup properly to really get the most out of the monitor. Again, I am only using the USB-C cable. First, I turned HDR on the monitor itself. Next through the Displays setting ins System Preferences I set the resolution to Scaled at the Most Space, and I turned HDR on. Finally I downloaded Font Smoothing Adjuster to turn off Font Smoothing. The last part is the key for this monitor. It makes the type 10 times better and actually legible.
Stand: It's not great. But it's not terrible. I'll echo what another reviewer mentioned about the ferrite core on the power cable. It's really bad. It doesn't fit through the routing hole. But that routing hole it way too low to begin with. It should be higher so you don't see the cable when you're working at the desk. Its a little wobbly when I type furiously. The height adjustment is good for ergonomics. The base is a pretty good size; I've definitely used monitors which bases take up much more room (I'm looking at you LG ultra Fine) and those are more wobbly.
Overall: I'm really happy with this monitor. It's no Studio Display, but it's not that expensive either. I've seen a few 4K monitors, and this one seems just as good as another, especially when you think most panels are made in the same factory, it's just the outsides that are different. Make sure to try out my settings to get the best color and type on this monitor.

Amazing monitor and customer service
This is my primary monitor for use with a MacBook Pro. It's a beautiful monitor - super sharp, great colors, adjustable stand, and USB-C connection with power delivery - all fantastic. A couple early issues with damage to the display during shipment and a faulty input were taken care of promptly by tech support/customer service. Super happy with this purchase.

Very special screen, especially for the price
I typically wait a few weeks before rating a product like this, so I will start by saying that this is a first impression. And, I am VERY impressed. As a second screen for my iMac, it rivals the 5k Apple screen that it sits next to, and in some ways surpasses it. That is not an easy task. I am very impressed. Crystal clear, beautiful colors, relatively easy to fine-tune color accuracy, a good solid stand, and a single-cable (USB-C) connection makes this a terrific bargain. I am certain better screens exist (and I've bought many for my wife's studio), but for this price range, this is an amazing value. Build quality is excellent, with no noticeable light bleed or other signatures of a sub-$800 panel. Kudos!
My one gripe so far is cable management - I cannot route the power cable to its port using the in-stand passthru as a cable guide (the nugget on the power cable is slightly too fat). While the USB ports are only USB 2.0 speeds when using the USB-C connection, that is a small sacrifice - and you can always add a cable to port over full USB 3.0 speeds if you really need it. And while the controls are a little bit clumsy, they are a VAST improvement over other Monoprice screens (and a lot of other brands) that I have used.

Excellent picture and color clarity for design work and photo editing.
I am using this monitor with both a desktop PC and a Macbook Pro as my primary display for graphic work and it is top-notch. Very little adjustment was required to get accurate colors. I had no issues with the screen whatsoever and not a single dead pixel!
I highly recommend this as your primary display, whether you are a designer, video or photo editor, or for anyone looking for a crisp and color-accurate monitor.

Image is bright and clear. Using with two MacBook Pro over USB-C and HDMI.
Only minus is that the onscreen menu/buttons to switch inputs is a bit clumsy.

Fantastic Monitor
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to how this monitor works and is connected.
For starters, if you use the included USB-C cable, it is a true single cable connection from your computer to the monitor, which carries video, sound, and allows you to use the built-in USB hub (more on this in a minute). You still need to use a separate power cord, however.
The video is transported using DisplayPort over USB, which is very similar to Thunderbolt. For most users, this shouldn?t matter, as DP is capable of a full 60FPS at 4K. Most computers that support Thunderbolt (including all recent Macs) support DP over USB. I?m currently using my monitor with a Mac Studio.
About that USB hub - while the ports are colored blue (which usually indicates a USB SuperSpeed port), my Mac shows the ports as being USB 2.0. While I wouldn?t connect an external hard drive to one of these ports, USB 2.0 is perfectly fine for webcams, headsets, keyboards and mice, which are the type of things you are likely to connect to this hub. If your computer is located on the floor, it is nice to have a USB hub in the monitor for plugging in keyboard and mouse.
There is a USB host adaptor port on the hub as well, but if you are connecting to your computer via USB-C, you do not need to use it. You only need to connect the USB host port to your computer if you are connecting to the monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort and still want to make use of the hub.
As for the picture, it is fantastic. The picture is bright, sharp, and fast, and definitely punches above its weight.
The bezels are very thin, and the monitor looks very modern. The thin bezels make the monitor appear smaller than it actually is.
