That’s the problem it doesn’t state specifics. Input would be power to run the monitor. Output would be to power hardware from the monitor.

Can this monitor be used vertically if mounted to a stand via the VESA mount?
A shopper
on Dec 30, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it should work vertically, though not with the included stand. Monoprice specifically put stickers over the VESA mounting holes so that using anything other than the included stand will void the warranty... which is absolutely one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. It's a good monitor, but had I known that I need to choose between a warranty and VESA mount, I would not have bought it. If you want to use a VESA mount, I would recommend buying a different brand.

Most excellent
This is a lovely monitor, twice as bright as the last monitor I bought seven years ago. Crisp text, rich colors, zero bad pixels, a pleasure to look at. I'm deducting half a star for the control interface, which is a miniature joy stick on the back of the monitor, apparently designed for maximum inconvenience.

Terrible Monitor
This review is for the Dark Matter by Monoprice 27in Gaming Monitor - 16:9, 2560x1440p, QHD, 180Hz, IGZO PID: 42892. This monitor was incredibly disappointing. When the device worked, I thought the colors were excellent and the 180hz refresh rate was more than enough, especially at 1440p. Unfortunately, within the first 4 months of owning it, I needed to send it in for an RMA. Stuff happens and this was frustrating, but I sent it in for a repair. The problem with Monoprice's RMA process is that they ship via ground both from you and to you. So it took a week to get there, a week for them to inspect it, and a week to send out a new monitor. I ended up getting a brand new monitor that hasn't ever been used before, and the same thing happened within another 4 months. Basically what happened is the PC would recognize that a monitor was plugged in, but the monitor wouldn't detect any input whatsoever. It turned into a 27 inch paper weight. Because of this situation, and the fact that the warranty is only 1 year long, I would highly advise staying away from this monitor.
Additionally, the second time I reached out to them for the repair they said that they could send me a new monitor. Seeing as I only had 4 months left of the warranty, I didn't want that at all because by the time that the next one inevitably broke, I would be out of luck on the warranty. My advice would be to go get a product from a company with a longer warranty period. Samsung, Dell, and Gigabyte (who I ended up going with) all have three year warranties. I've learned to not cheap out on this important piece of equipment.

Good, but it may be worth spending extra bucks.
It's a good monitor. But, I dislike that the advertising of the bezel is purposely misleading. When you turn it on the screen doesn't go to the edge. Color is a little off and if you are using HDR it is not adjustable. The left leg wasn't made quite right. It doesn't touch the table too on that side. I hope it settles over time. It isn't very noticeable. Other than that I've been happy with what has been a performance upgrade for my PC. It is noticably faster than a 60hz monitor. The sync function has worked without issue. I'd recommend it.

Screen comes nowhere close to the bezel

It's a good monitor, but dead pixels within 2 days of use.
Over all it's a good monitor especially for the price. The problem and it seems I must have bad luck with monitors as over the past few I've gotten they always either came with or developed dead pixels soon after purchase, the same happened with this one.
Within 2 days of owning the monitor it developed 4 dead pixels. I work from home and this replaced a failing (flickering) Samsung G5 monitor. I emailed support about the PixelPerfect guarantee explaining that I work from home and need a monitor until a replacement arrived and if it was at all possible to receive a replacement and then mail back my monitor with the dead pixels. In no way do I want to keep it or scam the company who could legally come after me anyways since they have all my information.
I got told that no I had to send this monitor back in, and that they then have 3-7 business days to do an inspection and the check-in process before they would even send the replacement. So we're talking about ~3 weeks to get a replacement monitor and there is no way I could go without a monitor for that long when it comes to work.
Wish companies would understand not everyone is out to scam or get them and that with the shift to work from home some accommodations should be considered.

Great for the price
Love it. Great monitor for the price with hdr. Only down side is while hdr is active, you cannot change the brightness settings. Hrd mode is a little on the dark side but still a great buy.

Good, but not perfect.
At 230$ they're probably a little overpriced, but they're high quality and they work well. Only other issue I have is the refresh rate changes in vertical mode but that's a niche issue.
