Ya,it sits on 4 small yet very durable extremely strong rubble like pieces. Although strong and highly durable, they aren’t scratching my floor any when I slowly move the behemoth! Also, being so strong and durable, they do not break!

No. However, if your hometheater processor has Dirac, such as the Momolith HTP-1 has, you’re able to automatically calibrate the subs to your various soumd preferences with the different types of music and movies you play.

I would not use this in a living room. I own it and its very very big! You don’t realize how big it is until you try to get it in your suv…. It is intended to be used in a dedicated theater or a very large entertaining space.

FOR ANY OWNERS OF THE NEW 16" Sub, what made you choose this sub over the awesome Monolith M-215 Sub?
Thomas H
on Oct 29, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Size, wanting duals and therefore size, also just the idea of packing two of everything into a box isn’t as streamline as a single woofer solution. It seemed like it was a stopgap from the Monolith 15 to the Monolith 16, even though it does sound great.

Hello Noppadol,
The sub will not be able to use a 240v power outlet, it’s only rated for 100-120v AC. For this to work you will need a plug adapter and a step down transformer to go from 240v to 110v.

I use a 48db roll off in my dsp, so no, i didn’t get a accurate or usable measurement. I find most subs with very, very few exceptions, sound a lot cleaner, and play a lot louder without any of the 10hz region. Its an inaudible freq. anyways and just causes distortion.

I own 2 of these Monolith 16” subs and a Monolith HTP-1 Hometheater Processor. What subwoofer cables do you specifically recommend I buy to connect the subs to my HTP-1?
I’ve looked online and I’m at a loss knowing what cables I need.
Should I buy a cable with XLR connectors on both ends or a cable with one XLR connector (to connect to HTP-1) and an RCA connector at the other end to connect to each of my subs.
One reason I ask is the subs have both XLR and RCA inputs. My other reason is the only cables I’ve found with XLR connectors on both ends are stated for use with mics and I’m concerned they won’t work with subs.
Thx so much for advice!!!

I just purchased 2 of these 16" thx. They look really good, just unboxed. I am going to buy 2 more subs shortly for a total of 4 in one home theater.
My question is important, buy 2 more of these, for 4 16's or buy an additional 2 M-215's for 2 16's and 2 m-215; which do the pro's recommend for tonality and overall performance? Stick with four of the same or would one be better suited to do two of each? I really want to know please help before i buy. I understand the form factor, size, and weight difference.

BEST ANSWER: The only reason anyone would ever have to need 4 ultra 16’s in one room is to create an equal bass response for all listening positions. 1 ultra 16 is capable of playing extremely loud and has a pretty awesome response curve. I’ve measured my room with 126db in room peaks with only 1 16-Ultra. I Just recently added a 2nd and now I’m at 128.5 db in room peak.
So putting more subs in the room is not about making it louder, its about making it smoother and more enveloping. You will realize only about a 6db jump in spl by doubling the about of subs twice.(3db per dbl.) So if smoothing is your goal then you need to use exact alike drivers. Makes tuning and aligning them so much easier.

The best HT subwoofer ever.
The best home audio purchase I've ever made.
This thing was really, really hard to get moved up a floor to my home theater room. It took months of convincing the WAF that we needed it (18000 cu ft open living to pressurize). Now that we have it, both me and the wife are so glad we got the biggest, baddest monolith.
On max volume, +15 gain. +6 gain at the receiver, you can feel this kick in your bones. It's reminiscent of that hair follicle shaking, eye lash, chest vibration that you get with high end car audio.
If you need to justify this purchase, just ask yourself: if you get the 13,are you going to constantly think to yourself of whst you _could_ have? Do you want the best of the best? Get this!

Amazing subs!
Purchased 2 of these monsters recently. I have tried an SVS PB4000 previously along with dual Monolith 15s, Dual Monolith 13's and now have these.
I don't think these can be beat, dollar for dollar. The 16's driver measures 16 inches from inside of the woofer trim to inside trim and closer to 18 from basket edge to edge. Other companies would probably call these 18s.
Regardless they hit hard, the finish is beautiful and I finally have my "end game" subs. The only negative is trying to bring these up my stairs by myself, lol.

WOW!!!!!
As a previous owner of the old SVS PB12 plus2 I can say that this new Monoprice 16" monster is one to be reckoned with! As of writing this review I really have not experienced the full potential of this sub, mainly due to the fact it?s shaking every conceivable item in my Livingroom to annoying levels and wanting to let the speaker break in a bit before really giving it a full workout. With that said it goes noticeably lower in extension and the response time just seems faster and more controlled than that of my old SVS. Watching movies is a thrill again and I am loving every minute of it.
Mike.

Great sub . Very attractive and I haven?t started playing with the thx mode. I have it in extended mode one port closed. The neighbors are complaining. I may try it in thx mode to see if it will tame down. If not I?ll have to install a sound proof wall. Like things like don?t un plug the sub is on. And it should last a life time

It is as good as people said.
I bought this in December 2021 and it is as amazing as the Audioholics review says. I have small-ish satellite speakers (SVS Prime) all around in my 7.1.2 setup and at first I was a bit worried about having a hole in the midbass but this subwoofer is happy to produce 60~100Hz bass without issues, it is also very accurate. Not sure what happened to the other reviewer saying FedEx charged extra, my shipping was free like Monoprice stated so either that person lives in Hawaii/Alaska or missed the scheduled delivery date (they'll call you to schedule it) so FedEx had to come back again, which makes sense since it's shipped via FedEx freight. This thing is really heavy, it took 3 of us to get it into my house after a semi trailer dropped it off (it came on a pallet). It is great to feel AND hear 16~22Hz bass in my ~3300sq ft room, it can easily fill the room with prestigious amount of bass and shake my whole house, might wanna secure anything you have hanging on the wall even if it's a few rooms away. One note though... I used to do car audio bass SPL competition (I think my score was just a bit above 150dB in my class) when I was younger, if you're looking for that eye-watering, air forcing into your nose, eyeballs bouncing in your skull , long hair flying like a windy day, glass breaking, earthquake plus tornado blowing, sheer heart-stopping amount of bass in your house, this won't do that. If you want that amount of bass in your home theater then you're better off building your own subwoofer, but chances are it's going to cost way more, might not sound as nice, much more cumbersome, and probably end up breaking something in the house from the sheer amount of vibration.
Highly recommended if you have the room for it.

Awesome sub! Bait and switch shipping
I'm so happy with this subwoofer. I have tons of headroom in my 3000 cu ft room. I couldn't be more satisfied. One gripe: I got a bill from fedex freight for $154! When I contacted monoprice they gave me some doublespeak bs that any politician would be proud of. Then they stopped replying to my e-mails. My invoice said free shipping and they charged me anyway. I went ahead and payed it... I had no choice. Well done monoprice, you got me! That said, I was so impressed with the performance I bought a 15" thx on sale to cancel out room nulls. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. They didn't charge me shipping for that one luckily. I gave it 5 stars because I'm suspicious that they remove bad reviews. Subwoofer- 5 stars. Customer service- 1 star. Budget an extra $154 if you really want this sub.

I?ve owned many subwoofers in my lifetime, but to date, this one is the Mac daddy of them all. Right now it is playing in a 15000 cu ft. Unfinished basement?.so all the walls are open and on a slab. . This thing is pressurizing the room with no problem. I intend to use it in a dedicated theater, but for now I?ve just been playing music on it. Without any DSP or tweaking at all, it hits low hard and quick. I?m very surprised how musical it is. I will be adding a second down the road, but to be honest, its only because the room was designed to use two apposing subs to eliminate nulls. Theres really no reason you would need two of these in a theater smaller than 4000 cu ft. It hits so low it will blow you away?.. like what it did to my old friend bones?
