BEST ANSWER: In total there are three things to plug into power: the soundbar, the subwoofer and the pair of satellite speakers. Only one of the two surround speakers gets power, the two are connected to each other by a thin cable that is similar to a very long headphone cable.

Surround sound speakers need only one ac outlet and they are joined by a wire running to the other speaker. I have my speakers running behind my couch so wires don't show. I will also add that the sound is great.

The right-surround-speaker requires AC power, and the left-surround-speaker gets its power from the right speaker because they are connected together by a long cable.

BEST ANSWER: Power goes to right speaker, a cable goes from right to left speaker. Bluetooth connection to soundbar, which is pretty stable and automatic when you turn the soundbar on. Using hdmi-arc makes it all very simple, once you have it set up. Your mileagle may vary depending on the electronic environment and how your smarttv implements hdmi-arc.

How long is the satellite interconnect cable?

BEST ANSWER: Pretty darn long. I did not use anywhere near all of it. Right now, my two satellites are 9 feet apart and plenty of cable left.. Besides, it is just 3.5mm connectors on both ends so if you needed to go really long, you could make one.

My TV (Sony A90J) can be configured as the center channel of a surround system. Can this sound bar be configured so that the TV is the center channel?

BEST ANSWER: No, I dont think so. It is possible the soundbar will sound better than the TV screen being a speaker. I have the A90J too and would not consider the TV as sounding "good".

If I pair this with my TV with either Blu-Tooth or a Optical digital audio cable, will the bar and its subsequent speakers auto power on, or will I need to manually power them on each time?

Does this have a discrete center channel speaker? I find discrete center channels provide better diaglogue. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: The sound is incredible. Powerful speakers the only thing I suggest is that you get 2 speaker stands for the 2 satilight speakers so you can move them with ease and yes they carry the stands at a low price. You will be pleased with the system

Affordably premium
This is the first soundbar I've purchased, even though I've been in the market for one for months. I've owned many home audio systems, from complicated Klipsch 7.1 systems, to very simple outdoor setups. Overall, this is a great addition to any TV. It doesn't require a dedicated AV receiver/amplifier, and the wireless connections are flawless. However, like all soundbars, the audio quality will never come close to even a bookshelf-sized stereo system. With that said, this unit is every bit as good as soundbar systems twice, or even three times the price. My one complaint is that the digital display on the soundbar is very bright. It would be awesome if it auto-dimmed after adjusting inputs, sound levels, etc. It's a solid purchase, though, and I'd do it again.

Nice system for price, but bluetooth issues
Good quality and sound for a small budget. However (and this is a deal breaker) it seems the bluetooth connection to the surround speakers is interrupting the WiFi signal to my streaming TV. Because of this I'm not able to use the sound bar system. Does the Monoprice engineer team have a solution for this?

Good bargain upgrade
Sound quality is good, much better than even the high end TVs integrated, which I was honestly not sure if it would match. But using ARC, the surrounds will randomly screech and pop loudly. Ended up switching back to optical which got rid of that issue, just have to keep 2 remotes handy now.
I really like the surround feature which I mounted over the back of the couch. Can have volume lower at night and still hear everything.

good sound for $$
My only beef, and others have also pointed this out, is that there is no way to toggle off the display. Each subsequent press of a button turns the display back on. THIS IS ONLY SOFTWARE FOLKS! it cost NOTHING to make right. Otherwise, the unit seems to be good value for the $$ compared to name brands (e.g. Yamaha...)

Low profile. Great sound for the price. Just migrated from the TV speaker system. Huge, huge difference.

Great sound, but no universal remote codes
Sounds is great and a significant upgrade from my 5 year old vizio soundbar. HOWEVER, this unit will not work with universal remotes, so i am knocking off 2 stars. I even reached out to Monoprice support and they stated there are no learning codes to program a universal remote. I might try the "IR Learning" capability on the remote and see if that works.
