BEST ANSWER: It will charge any phone provided you have the right cable. For an iPhone you need a USB (either A or C-type) to lightning cable.

The button on the item is indeed a power button, which allows you to press once to view the current charge level, and then press twice turn off the power output if you need.
Alternatively, the unit does included a smart IC that will automatically detect when a device is connected, and allow for the newly connected device to begin charging until full.

Does this come with a charging cable? Am i correct in understanding that power bank receives charge from Micro USB or USB C port and outputs power via USB C or USB A.

These Are Nice
I got two of these, one green and one orange. They're nice looking and the colors I got were represented well in the on line depictions. I tested each one. I charged them and tested them on my Samsung Galaxy S-8 smart phone. I let my phone run down to 27% battery twice, 2 days in a row and each power bank took about 1 h 25 minutes to get the phone's battery back up to 100%. It takes a while to recharge the power banks, but they should come in handy.

Great product. Every one should have one
Glad I got this. The power in my home went off the night I received it. My Samsung SAMSUNG S7 battery was low. I plugged it in to the Monoprice Obsidian pocket plus USB and did the job I got it for. This is a great product. Every one should have one.

Beautifull as well as functional
It’s surprisingly powerful for its size. It is able to charge my iPad Pro where other comparable battery packs won’t even turn it on.
