Do these fold or condense to make smaller for traveling?

BEST ANSWER: Yes they fold up, as in the very bottom picture on the site. The headphones tuck under the part that goes over the head. The case is not compressable, and although it provides good protection, I found it to be very bulky.

A little, not much. The sides hinge inwards just above each ear cup and the ear cups swivel about 90 degrees. Excellent fit, great sound make the size worth working around.
By the way, I also have a set of the cheaper model BT-300ANC, which I think I like better. Same design, but the 500ANC is almost disturbingly quiet when the ANC is on. Either one is well worth the investment.

Do these headphones have an outlet that allows you to connect them with in-flight entertainment on a plane?
A shopper
on Dec 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: These headphones have a 1/8” jack so you can use them wirelessly via Bluetooth or corded like regular headphones. It comes with a cord. This is a standard 1/8” to 1/8” audio cord. Some airplanes still have a double pin jack which requires an adapter. The package does not include one of these adapters. You would need to buy one yourself. Airplanes do not have Bluetooth connections to their entertainment systems so you do need a cord, but yes you can plug these in and use the noise cancelling function at the same time.

The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack that is compatible with most airlines today that provide in flight entertainment. The headphones come with a cord that has 3.5 mm connectors on both ends. Most planes no longer use the two jack plastic prong adapter. In fact if you "purchase" headphones n the plane, they usually end in a 3.5 mm prong.

How does the ANC and sound quality of these BT500-ANC compare to the original Monoprice Noise Cancelling headphones aka Bose QC15 replicas?

Tough question! I can only say that when I started using these phones, I was hugely impressed by their value. The sound is perfectly good and the noise-cancelling works. My only complaint is that you can hear the wind pretty loud if it's windy out. But for the money, these are keepers. I mean, you really can't go wrong, not for 69 bucks. (BTW, I'm in Canada and they took forever to arrive; I don't blame Monoprice -- it's Canada Post that's slow. So it's worth paying extra for proper shipping.)

Monoprice BT-500ANC Bluetooth with aptX HD, Google Assistant, Wireless Over Ear Headphones with Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)

Monoprice SonicSolace Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Wireless Over the Ear Headphones, Black (Bulk Packaging) (open box)
BEST ANSWER: I looked at both and they are very similar. Two things I noticed was that the BT-500ANC has much better battery life with a larger battery. Also, the BT-500’s have noise canceling on the microphone as well which is very helpful. So I would go with those.
Both headphones use the same Bluetooth versions and codecs. If you are an iPhone user, I would highly recommend going up to the BT-600ANC because it provides the AAC bluetooth codec specifically for Apple devices. iPhones do not offer AptX compatibility, only AAC and the basic Bluetooth codec. If you have an Android device and you know it supports AptX, there’s no need to worry about having AAC. Matching the codecs between the headphones and device will get you the best audio quality possible, but if it doesn’t match up it will still work and be compatible using the standard Bluetooth codec.

If your TV is Bluetooth compatible or has a 3.5mm output, yes.

My question is, why do these headphones power off? I am waiting for a call to come in and they have to be powered on, AGAIN, to take the call.

It turns off because of inactive use. It saves the battery that way.

Awesome Value
I love them!! Great price, comfortable, great sound and noise canceling. Equal to a $249 Bose. Was on a flight from DFW to Idaho. Held charged and didn?t hear a peep from the screaming baby. Haven?t used Google assistant but I?m sure it works. If you need to be seen with a logo it may not be for you, but I like just fine. I appreciate value.

Good Sound, Good Value
Very nice headphones. Comfortable and light. Although my ears are not the best, I still think they?re better than my older ANC Sony headphones. ANC works well. Only weird thing: powering down the Bluetooth does not automatically power off the ANC, so you need to switch off both or the batteries run out. Very satisfied overall.

Really great value!
Very comfortable. I get great feedback on audio calls from the people I speak to. Bluetooth connection is pretty strong, but I do need to manually connect sometimes.

Very good but very large headphones
These Bluetooth headphones sound great and work as advertised. My only dislike about the headphones is they are large. When there are in the included case, they are really large. I bought them to use on airplane trips but they are too large to fit reasonably into my backpack or brief case. No problem with the sound or bluetooth connection at all.

Lasted over two years with hours of use every day
Very pleased with these headphones, they lasted over two years before one of the hinges broke.
I use them about 6 hours a day, sometimes sleeping with them on and am blown away. Most Name Brand headphones never lasted that long for me
Only gripe is the the ANC takes some of the bass out of the sound and adds a mild hiss.
Highly recommend over more expensive products

Decent for price
ANC is not as good as Bose or Sony. Comfortable, good battery life. Sound quality is okay.
