BEST ANSWER: Yes, the 1st and 2nd Gen had lightning connections the 3rd and (current) 4th Feb use USB C so this cable will work

As the description states, this cable is Type-C to Type-C.. This cable is not lighting capable.

This cable will charge, but not work for Video on MB Pro
The cable is well made.
I was hoping that this will carry video signal from my MB pro to the monitor, and power from monitor to MB pro. It turn out this will not carry video signal, so this is only good for charging at the end.
