Where does my USB plug from my printer plug into?
A shopper
on Apr 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There are three sockets on this: a USB-A connector, an RJ-45 (Ethernet) connector, and a barrel-style power connector. There's no way to hook it up incorrectly.

There are only two usb ports (labeled with pictures of a keyboard and a mouse), but you can plug in a multi-port usb hub, so that's what you would need.

Does this support DP 1.2? Specifically, would this support multi stream transport (MST) for daisy chaining two output monitors from the one output port?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
This is a KVM so it would not work as an MST hub.
You would only get same video from your original computer to the second computer.

Does this switch treat the monitor as unplugged for the output not in use? If I have one monitor on KVM and one not, if I switch the KVM to a laptop, will all of the windows on the KVM monitor shift over to the other one?

BEST ANSWER: No it will not. It will keep the other computer thinking that the monitor is still active

Switches two computers just fine

Does what a KVM should do.
Does what I need it to do without any fuss.
Would be a little more flexible if the A/B cablesparticularly the video cablesweren't wired into it, as I need adapters for both the A and B device that make the system bulkier. But this is a minor complaint.

Works as advertised
I used this to connect my computer with a DisplayPort monitor to my HP Zbook 15 G5 laptop. The laptop has an HDMI output and I couldn't connect the male DisplayPort to it. Turns out there was a USB-C port on the laptop and I bought the Monoprice Select Series USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter, Product # 13234 and it worked right away.
