BEST ANSWER: Yes, the single color options are all just solid non-strobe modes for the 7 different colors. There are no animations, only brightness adjustment.

Is this Mac compatible?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: Yes. I’m using it with a MacBook and haven’t had any issues. The windows key becomes an Apple key.
The rgb may not be why you’re expecting. It’s not software controlled by the computer. It has a few built in modes it can cycle through but that’s it. The keys feel great though and that’s what I wanted.

What do the indicator lights above the INS-Home-PgUp keys mean? The A is the Caps Lock indicator. What does the G, 1 or the download icon mean and when are they illuminated?
Jerry L
on Dec 20, 2020
BEST ANSWER: "G" is "gaming mode" accessed by pressing Fn F8 It disables the Windows key so you don't accidentally switch out of your game. "1" is num lock, on this keyboard it's toggled by the "Num" key on the 10 key pad. And the download arrow is scroll lock, "ScrLK" key above the 10 key pad.

How do I swap the spacebar?
Randall N
on Mar 9, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The spacebar is attached in the switch, two stabilizers, and two screws. Flip the keyboard over and you will.see two screws below the space bar. Use a small phillips screwdriver to remove them and the space bar will come off once you release it from the other items listed. It took me a while to figure that out.

Excellent quality and features for the price
Great keyboard and a great value as well. Looks terrific, very well built, and I love the feel of the keys. Can change the color just by pressing Fn+F12, and brightness by Fn+up or Fn+down. Haven't had it very long yet but have just about completed Sniper Elite with it. Hopefully the keycaps don't wear out.

An easy 5/5 at $50
After many years of using a CM Storm Trigger with Cherry MX Red switches for work and games, I had my eye out for a new keyboard and saw this one was on sale. I thought the optical switches sounded interesting and the price made it worth a try. So far, it's been all around great. Not too noisy or clicky, very responsive with good keystroke travel length, and nice keycaps. Seems like it will be easy to clean as well. Details to keep in mind: no built-in USB ports; preset lighting effects with adjustable brightness, and; media functions aren't shown on the respective keys. Overall, a solid purchase at $50, but not sure if I'd be as satisfied at the $100 original price.

Fantastic feel, fantastic keyboard!
I absolutely love typing on this keyboard. The switches feel wonderful, responsive, and tactile. If I had to have a gripe, it's that the RGB doesn't have more options available for the lighting patterns etc, but that's a microscopic nit to pick at best.
Absolutely worth it!!

No need for a more expensive keyboard. Worth it.
Not noisy, super high quality and feels just right. I like how you can turn off the lights or dim them and you can disable the windows key with FN+F8. Amazing deal when on sale.

Impressive Optical Mechanical Keyboard
I have had this keyboard now for a few weeks and overall I do enjoy it. It has a nice actuation with the key presses. There is not a lot of travel which I enjoy and had a slight clicky feel to it. These are optical switches, but to me they feel very similar to my other mechanical keyboard that is cherry mx red switches and this seems very similar to that, just with less travel.
I wish the keyboard had more settings for the RGB, but I did not set out to buy the RBG addition to this, it is a nice tough however with multiple modes. They key caps are easy to remove, however, I am not sure if these key caps can be replaced with others, that would be a nice touch. The key caps have a nice touch and feel and are not smooth on top but a bit of texture. I am not a big fan of the font used on the keys, I would much prefer an easier to read font as some of the keys are not as clear to see what the button it.
Overall, a nice keyboard with an aluminum top plastic bottom.

Wonderful keyboard!
I have both red and blue version. The build quality is great! It is light but it doesn't move on the desk. Personally, I like the lightweight keyboard. That is the future like mouse does. There is no ping noise like other mechanical keyboards I owned (Logitech G613, Corsair K68 etc.). The key travel is perfect (3mm) for me. Overall, it is a great keyboard.

Satisfied!
Keyboard is very sleek and slim. The color variations are neat. I prefer the wave, never seen it before. Keys are responsive and relatively quiet, which was what I was looking for. It was a nice time to upgrade when working from home.

Great keyboard
I have had other brands that played well but were hard on the day to day use. This has a great feel and supports daily use well.
Colors are bright event in full daylight is easy to read for the hunt and peck.

Great camp for the extra large mousepad.

No custom software
The keyboard types nicely, but monoprice doesn't offer any software to go with itso no options to create macros or even to customize lighting outside of presets. If you're looking for either of those things, consider buying elsewhere.
