I want to build a sewing table for a 30-40lb sewing machine. Is the base sold without the table?

BEST ANSWER: Yes. I placed 100 table to on this plus computer, monitors, etc, without issues. Frame can lift 265 lbs and there is also a 2 leg model. You will probably have to center your sewing machine in the middle of the table to for better stability. You don't have to get the monoprice counter top/desktop. You can buy a different counter top with

Am i understanding this correctly- this is a frame only and no top?
GLENN WILLIAMS
on Nov 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, that's correct. You can make your own, or purchase one to fit the size desk you want. Since it's expandable, you can get a very long surface if you want. I couldn't find what I was looking for in my area so I had to drive 150 miles to get a top for the frame. There aren't really good instructions on how to measure the frame to fit your desktop, but just use your best judgement and it will work out. Most of the assembly can be done with one person, but I recommend two people for the desktop to ensure it's square.

Correct--as it says below, you'll need to buy the surfaces separately. Or, if you already have a desk surface, you can use that. (In my case, I replaced the legs on an already existing corner desk with this frame.)

That is correct, this is only the frame. You can purchase table tops separately from Monoprice or you can purchase table tops many other places to fully customize the look of your desk.

Is there a technical drawing available of the Corner Desk Frame? I need to know the position of the middle table leg in order to design a table top cut from a 4'x8' sheet of plywood.
New User U
on Apr 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, we don't have a technical drawing but we have the drawing on the product page with the main measurements labelled. If you need specific angles or measurements, we might be able to get screenshots from our 3D file. The dimensions of this desk are adjustable since both sides of the desk frame can be stretched out. The main dimensions to consider would be the foot dimensions (27.6") and the widths that you will decide to use for the frames. Thanks for checking.

Sure, I can check out the drawing. And yes, the intersection of the horizontal members do have to be at 90 degrees because of the way the frames connect. You can see more details of this in the manual, which has a link towards the bottom of the product page. you can check step# 3 and #4 to see the frame parts and how they connect.

OK, I know what happened. I'm confusing this device with another one from a different site which does not need a 90 degree intersection. And 90 degrees means my single sheet of plywood for the desktop won't work. Thanks.

I have a desktop that is 36 inches wide and 66 inches long, my return side is the longer more slender side at 22.5 wide and 84 long. Will these dimensions work with these legs?
New User U
on Mar 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it could work if the shorter side of the desktop will be right next to the longer side of the return, so the outer edges of the L-shaped desk will effectively be 88.5 (66+22.5) inches x 84 inches. Just note that you will have some overhangs for the main desk and for the long side of the return, so just make sure that the desktop is durable enough. It would also be best to place the heavier loads away from the edges to make sure the frame is able to support them. Thanks.

What is the warranty on the motor on these legs? On the frame itself? Is it adjustable lengths to fit multiple table tops?
New User U
on May 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the product has a standard 1 year Monoprice warranty. The materials and construction are quite robust on these desks and would easily outlast the warranty. The frame lengths are adjustable and could fit a range of table top sizes. You can refer to the drawing with the dimensions labeled on the product page for more information. Thanks for checking.

I have limited space for the return side. Going by the diagram in the user / assembly manual, if I use the 4' table top for the return and the 6' table top for the main portion, it looks like the return is effectively 4' + 29.5", which won't fit in the space I have available. Could I use the 4' table top as the return, and then 6' table top to wind up with 6' + 23.5" for the main portion of the desk?
A shopper
on Jun 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the 4' top by itself won't be long enough to cover the desk frame on the return side and probably won't mount properly if it does not reach the top support. If the desk frame dimensions fit your space, you could consider getting a custom desktop that's short enough to fit but long enough to cover the frame and mount properly.
An alternative might be to have two sit-stand desks, like 31290 (single motor dual leg desk) and 36079 (single leg desk). They would be separate desks but you would have more flexibility with positioning them.

Are there any recommended monoprice accessories for this motorized corner desk? The description says to combine two tops at right angles to make the L-Shape. However, as far as cutting a top for this I am unclear if the longer piece goes on the side with 2 perpendicular supports or on the other side with 1 perpendicular and 1 parallel support (side with the controller shown in picture)? My intent is 72"x30" with 30x30" on left side.... so for top dimensions would I use 42x30" (front) with a 60x30" (left) or 72x30" (front) with a 30x30" (left)

I just bought this with 2 5' foot tops. It seems that no matter how I try to place them, they don't work. Is this a supported configuration?

Monoprice Table Top for Sit-Stand Height-Adjustable Desk, 5ft Black, Compatible with Electric Desks
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the curves on the 5ft tops would prevent the return side from fitting snuggly. Also, butting the 5ft against the width of the other top might end up to be too long (you'd have a 7.5 ft length on one side). You could still make it work if you have the space and as long as you don't put too much weight on the overhangs.

I saw mixed answers to this. If I get this and only want to use the two end legs for a smaller standard desk instead of all 3 legs for large corner desk configuration, is this possible? If so, how do you wire the two leg motors into the main switch box? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: The controller has multiple ports, so you can plug in 2 or3 with no problem and it functions the same.

Does it come with any hardware, like screws, to attach a desktop?

BEST ANSWER: Yes. It comes with 28 screws which are 16mm (about 0.62 inch). See the user's manual at the bottom of the Description tab for more details.

Hi, I understand that this has a max capacity of 265lb but is that number a safe estimate or pushing the limits?

What tops should I use with this desk? I only see the 6' tops and the 5' one with the not flat side. I see you no longer sell the 4'

I realized that this table is too big for my apartment, so I though I would connect only two legs to make standard desk. Unfortunately motor controller doesn't work if third leg is not connected. I can't return it either, because the return cost is $100 + restocking fee as I've already assembled it. Is there a way to make motor controller work without third leg attached?

If the lift controller fails or breaks, is it possible to adjust the height manually or lock it in a "down" position to salvage the $500 investment?
After reading reviews, I have a feeling the inability to get replacement parts for a new controller or motor components to repair could easily make this a problem.
I realize after reading here that during 1st year I might be able to return the entire desk and everything in order to get a working replacement part, if approved through
warranty, but then nothing after that of course. So I would like to understand my "worst case" options if the mechanism making this adjustable should break after
the 1yr warranty, since repairs and parts are out of the question and documentation on the components is evidently sparse.

I'm unable to set any default heights for my desk.
I hold the "M" button down, as instructed in the manual, the screen starts flashing "S--". If I press any of the numbers on the control panel, the screen keeps flashing. Only when I press "1" does the screen stop flashing. However, none of the new heights are programmed into the control panel. If I press any of the numbers, the height automatically defaults to the factory set height for that button.
Is there something wrong with the remote? I'm following the instructions exactly as specified in the user manual.

Works perfectly; very nice appearance
The left and right arms are customizable to the space, within the dimensions listed in the instructions. The color and appearance of the base are very nice. Works perfectly. I assembled the base myself, although having two people would make it easier. Comes with handy small adhesive zip ties to secure the cables. The top support bars are slightly narrower than the feet, so if you want the top to extend, say, to a wall that the feet are up against, measure the width of the feet.

Glad I purchased
Great purchase, stable, easy to assemble. Purchased bamboo top from another vendor and easy to attach. Lift motors have good speed and love 4 quick memory settings. Only good things to say after using for 2 weeks!!

Flexible and strong
Good desk. Worked out great for my office. Bought a 5x5 birch plywood and used 5x3 and 4x2 as the 2 pieces. Also added a 1x2 keyboard slider. Gave me a pretty big desk space with the flexibility to adjust height which is awesome. Cable management is not the best, but for home office use, it is sufficient. Price was unbeatable since I got it for a sale.

Measurements are off
I loved the legs but I was following the measurements on the site and they were incorrect. I didn't use the legs the way they are supposed to be used. My husband had to figure out a creative solution to utilize the legs with the table top I have. That is why I knocked off a star. But I would definitely recommend these legs. Theyre great!

Worked great for 2 years, then slowly quit working
This worked very well when I first got it. However, after owning it for two years, the desk now consistently does not rise with error code E06, the left leg constantly goes up and down at a different rate compared to the two right legs. I can lower and reset it fine, but then it does not go up, so now it is stuck down.

Perfect for my home office!
Just what I needed for my home office/command center! Be prepared to have to return a top if you get it from Amazon- their shippers dropped the 4th section on a corner and smashed it. Only option was to return it, and pay $10 more for a replacement, that took 10 days to arrive. The 6 section from Monoprice arrived without issue, though.
One quick note: pre-drilled applies to single section desks. On the L-shaped, one side wont match up. The provided screws are self-tapping, but I pre-drilled just in case.
