Is this the kind of controller that starts the motors slowly or does it run at full speed suddenly? Is it the same for both the 2-leg and the 3-leg versions?

Workstream by Monoprice Triple Motor Height Adjustable Sit-Stand Corner Desk Frame, 3-Leg Corner L-Shaped Table Base, Black

Workstream by Monoprice Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Table Desk Frame, Electric, White
BEST ANSWER: I have the 3 leg version and the motor starts slowly, goes a set slow speed and finishes off slowly at about the last inch towards final height. Only thing to consider is it has no safety stop in case of an office chair with arms shoved under while elevated and adjusting downwards. I had this happen once. Otherwise I am pleased with performance. It is quiet and has worked perfectly for the past year as I work remote and use daily.

I have the 3 leg and its the best ergonomic purchase I've ever made. The motors seem pretty chill - I don't know if they actually ramp up in speed, but it's not like you're going to accidentally floor it into your knees or something. It also has a presets which are really convenient for consistently taking it to your preferred sitting and standing heights.

Can I use 2 6ft tabletops or does it have to be 4ft and 6ft combination? I'm trying maximize the surface area.
A shopper
on Nov 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, if using the Monoprice desktops directly, we recommend using the 4ft + 6ft combination to ensure that the desktops will be supported by the frame while avoiding unsupported overhangs. Using 2 of our 6ft desktops directly is not recommended because one side will end up too long beyond the frame, even at full extension.
It is possible to use bigger desktops, but it is important to check it the desktops might need to be reinforced or if they are made from material that could tolerate overhangs without affecting long term shape and durability. Hope this helps. Thanks.

The manual looks like a 4ft top with a 6ft top. Plus you have to buy the plates to hold both pieces together. I do agree two six foot pieces would be great.

Could two 60" x 30" tops be used with this stand?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, it might work but it would depend on your desktop material. Some desktop materials can tolerate more overhang, while some materials could sag over time or could become less durable if a large area is not supported by the frame. Hope this helps. Thanks.

You can, just know that one leg will become 90” long when you form the L shape. While the frame will support a 90” leg, I chose to cut 30” from one 60” x 30” piece to accommodate my office space giving me an L that is 60” x 60”. I used these tips from Ikea, very affordable and easy to cut: (ikea) linnmon-tabletop-white-20251139

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this combination is possible. You will just have a longer overhang on one side of the 5ft desktop than if you were using a 4ft top. This is still OK, just avoid excessive loads on the overhang for long-term durability and to prevent sagging over time. Thanks for checking.

Thank you. One more question. Why do the instructions show the 6ft table being installed on the right side such that it is not equally supported (the middle arm is 90 degrees to the end arm. It would seem that the 6ft panel should go on the left side as you stand in the "v" shape so the top is equally supported on the arms that are set at parallel to each other, giving better support for the smaller top via the mating plates.
Hi, thanks for bringing this up. You are correct, that orientation is probably not the most optimal way to mount the desktop, switching the tops to provide more support for the longer top would be better. We'll update the manual to reflect it. Having said that, the tops would still be supported sufficiently by the length of the frame and the mounting plates. Thanks for the feedback.

Based on the dimensions you provided and average weight for oak, the desktops should be at around 150 lbs and within the rated load for this desk frame. Don't forget to estimate the weight of the equipment that will be put on the desk as well, but it should work if the estimates are close. Thanks.

Workstream by Monoprice Table Top for Sit-Stand Height Adjustable Desk, 5ft Black
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this could work but a couple of things might not be ideal. First is that the overhang would end up being long at the side edge and that section of the desk should probably not support too much weight for long term durability and stability. Second is the ergonomic curve won't be right next to the side desktop, which might be OK for some, but might not be ideal for others who would want to sit closer to the return side of the desk. Hope this helps.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, that height is the lowest setting that the desks could go, which could be useful for younger or smaller users or when setting up the desk to be able to reach the back. But you don't have to use it that low, the desk can adjust to any height between 23.6 - 49.2" and you can save your own height presets to get a custom fit from the desks. We use sit-stand desks at the Monoprice head office and the saved presets are higher than the minimum possible to get the most comfortable sitting and standing heights for the individual users. Thanks for checking.

Our desk configurations in certain locations require that the longer side of the (6 ft) desk is in the opposite side of what is shown on the picture. Is the frame that runs the length of the 6 ft. desk interchangeable to accommodate a right-side L or a left-side L configuration?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the frame itself assembles in only one way in terms of the mounting locations for the top frame parts. Having said that, both sides of the frame can be extended or shortened, so you should be able to turn the desk and find a position that works for your desktops. I would be best to use the main tabletop on the side with the two horizontal top supports (left side in the picture), but having the other side longer would still work as long as the desktop is mounted and attached to each other properly. Hope this helps. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the frame can only be assembled one way unfortunately. The flexibility to customize dimensions was designed for the frame extension instead of the assembly mounting points to keep things simple.
If you really need the shorter side and if you are an advanced DIYer with tools for cutting and drilling steel, it might be possible to shorten the frame segments if you can't find other alternatives.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, although your plan could work mechanically by removing the entire middle section and assembling the two side legs next to each other, removing one motor/leg would cause an electronic error. The controller will detect the disconnected motor and will throw an error code and prevent operation.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, if the dimensions fit, then the Ikea Galant should work. I can't find more details about the desktop online, so it would be best to compare your desktop's dimensions to this desk frame that can be found on the product page. You would just need to secure the desktop with screws for stability and safety.

Could you tell me the MINIMUM length of each piece of the desktop, given a depth of 30" for both pieces of the desktop?

BEST ANSWER: Given 30" depth for both pieces, and assuming you want the tops somewhat centered on the frame, you can have one around 65" long, and the other around 30" long. It's probably best to scale and sketch it to see if that'll fit your needs.

Will this work with the L shaped 3 motor desks? I did not see any other 4ft options available.

Workstream by Monoprice Triple Motor Height Adjustable Sit-Stand Corner Desk Frame, 3-Leg Corner L-Shaped Table Base, Black

Workstream by Monoprice Height Adjustable Gas-Lift Sit-Stand Desk Top, 4ft Black
In the image with the dimensions it shows the left side of the L-shape being adjustable ~48-70" and the right side being ~55-70". Can the two sides be swapped, so the shorter of the minimum length is on the right side of the L-shape and not the left side? I have a custom wood top that is 60" (left) x 48" (right).

I’m looking to source the Workstream by Monoprice Triple Motor Height Adjustable Sit-Stand Corner Desk Frame, 3-Leg Corner L-Shaped Table Base, Gray for a client. I have a few questions:
1. I only have a 50” area on the left side of my space. Will that work? Am I correct that the minimum length of the left side (48.8”) is the length to the back corner? So the tabletop for that side needs to subtract the depth of the right tabletop, correct?
2. Can this accommodate glass? Your image appears to show a glass top, but I don’t see any details on how that install might work.
3. Where is the power cord located?

Is the controller for raising and lowering the desk based on or compatible with the LOGICDATA controllers/protocol? Is it compatible with another protocol?

Good for the price
It goes up, it goes down. I'm 6'2" and it goes high enough for me to stand and work comfortably, and still has a few more inches it could go up. It also goes fairly low too. lower than a standard desk's high. I made a top from Aspen purchased from a local home store, and love the look. I decided not to go with Oak or something heavier since I didn't want to overload the motors. I have 2 monitors a laptop, a desktop and a bunch of other random junk and it doesn't struggle to raise at all.
I took off 1 star because when its up, it wobbles a bit while I type. I don't think it's going to collapse, but it's noticeable. For the price though, it's tough to beat considering other desks are easily in the $1,000+ range.

Quite good
Overall the quality is quite good. Shipping, packing and packaging were excellent. We ordered 4 for our office and after putting together the first one, the next three went super fast. The directions are simple and clear.
We did not order the tops and instead elected to call a local cabinetry shop and had them make some custom countertops (6'x6' long by 3' wide with ZERO gap in the seam). Mounting the tops is definitely a two person job. (Pro tip, only install half and then finger tighten the set screws on the adjustable connecting rods. Then place the top(s) on and then make final adjustments before installing the remaining set screws and fully tightening. Last, screw the tops to the frame.)
The finished desk is very sturdy at all of the typical settings with just a tiny bit of wobble at the tallest setting. The motors are not silent, but are quiet enough that they are not disturbing others in the room and cannot be heard over a radio which is at a reasonable volume.
We have yet to install our cable management so for now it looks a little messy under, but it is very affordable and functional. With the tops we purchased locally we're at about $850 per desk for something that is bigger, better and setup exactly the way we want it compared to $1,200-$1,400 for a full setup from somewhere else. My OCD(ish) business partner is very pleased as well.

works well, assembles easy
I built my own topper for this so purposefully bought just the frame. Out of the box...it went together very easily. Make sure you have the space to lay everything out though to start. It is just easier to identify the pieces and not lose the screws.
their hex tool is ok, but I used a powertool with an extender, which made it super easy.
Desk is fluid and smooth to operate and dang near silent. I LOVE IT.
My only complaint...I have tried to follow the instruction to change from metric (CM) measurement to Imperial (IN), but if fails to change every time. Not a huge issue...I know my height both ways and have it set the way I want it...but my wife doesn't think in that manner and so it would be nice to be able to show her in inches. For now...she just trusts me that 100cm is just over 39 inches.

Monoprice L shape
Very nice! Excellent packaging - nothing was scratched or damaged. I was a little afraid that since it is so big that it would be flimsy. But it is extremely sturdy. Very quiet operation. So far very happy with the purchase.
I deducted 1 star for a few minor things. First: Instructions not the easiest to read - text & diagrams very small. Second: Not the easiest to put together, takes some thorough understanding of the diagrams...which again are very small. Would have liked to see a lock button option so a child can't play with it. But the quality, overall look & operation of the product gets 5 stars.

Perfect for 5'2" individual
I am 5'2" tall - I've gone through two other adjustable height desks before discovering this one. The lowest I'd been able to find was 24.5" without a desktop, and while it worked better than nothing it was still nearly a full inch too tall with a desktop. This desk with a 3/4" thick desktop goes EVEN LOWER than the minimum I need to be comfortable. An absolute godsend and literally the ONLY suitable desk I could find on the market. I'd love for monoprice to make a more affordable two-leg frame option with the same minimum height as this desk.
The other two I got were heavier duty, but this one is perfectly sturdy. Assembly is standard for this type of desk frame.

Sturdy
Well built, very sturdy and smooth movement. The controller instructions dont appear to match the revision of device I have (?) since I cannot switch from metric to standard units but its not a big deal. Overall, I'm very happy with the unit.

Very good, but room to improve as well
I really like this desk. I am a fan of ‘L’ desks, and really like when they are made up of one piece like this. The standing features are nice too, but mostly I like it for the infinite adjustability, to get the perfect height for different tasks/chairs/users. It’s a great desk and felt worth it.
It is frustrating that there isn’t a better cable management system for the motor/controls, and no flexible product like this will meet exactly every dimension of every customer’s desire, but this one does pretty well. I would recommend using 30” or wider desktops if you can, otherwise the feet extend farther than your desktop and that can look a little awkward.
But overall, I definitely recommend this desk base if you are looking to create a huge custom ‘L’ desk with your choice of creative desktops. It’s not cheap, but is a great value if you want all of these features! It looks nice enough for any room, but will never be the standout design element.

Great desk!
Very easy to put together. Strong desk base with some weight to it. I put a very heavy 2” walnut live edge on top and it lifts effortlessly. Lift is very quiet. I was surprised by the range of height. Goes really low to REALLY HIGH. Assembled easy enough. Had lots of room with included cords and it even had the cord management straps. Honestly it’s exactly what I hoped it would be. Very happy with the decision to purchase!
