Blackbird Gaming MP810 keyboard...red switch vs. blue switch...what's the difference?

BEST ANSWER: General Red are favored for gaming and blue for typing. Search online for Cherry MX Blue vs Red for a comparison. For example with Blue you have to let the key come further back up before pushing it again. Helps avoid extra characters being typed but might not be ideal for wasd shooter game.

LK blue is tactile and clicky switch and LK red is linear and smooth switch.

BEST ANSWER: It is possible to set the backlight RGB pattern to one of the 11 built-in presets using the key combo Fn+F12, but the keyboard can only use these presets. There is no mention on the product info card of any way to choose a custom backlight color scheme or to sync with RGB control software, so I would assume this is not possible.

BEST ANSWER: There are 11 built-in backlight presets, which you cycle through by pressing Fn+F12. The info card in the box lists these presets as: Wave, 7 Neon colors rotating, Pulsing light, Six Row Constant Light, Cyan Constant Light, Orange Constant Light, Red Constant Light, Green Constant Light, Yellow Constant Light, Blue Constant Light, Purple Constant Light. The first two in the list are animated, meaning the light pattern shifts over time, while the others (including the one called "Pulsing Light", oddly) are constant. "Wave" has a fast left-to-right motion of an angled rainbow pattern that spans the width of the keyboard, while "7 Neon colors rotating" is a slow cycling of color across the entire keyboard (meaning all keys are the same color at any given time) through the seven traditional rainbow colors. If you want the backlight off, you can do that by turning the brightness down all the way on any pattern (Fn+[Up Arrow]/Fn+[Down Arrow] controls brightness).

My Windows key doens't work, what should I do?

BEST ANSWER: Check to see if the light above the Ins key is lit. The one with the G on it. This is a mode that disables the Windows Key. To toggle, hit Fn-F8.

Is this keyboard washable??? I will be using this not for gaming but in a VERY dusty environment, where washing it is the easiest way to clean it after a week.

BEST ANSWER: This is an electrical device so, no. However I would suggest if you're not going to remove and clean the keys individually, look up Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt. It's what I use in an industrial plastic manufacturing environment. That and a microfiber cloth to clean the keys surfaces.

TERRIFIC BLACKBIRD
This is one fabulous keyboard! I bought my son TWO GAMING keyboards… a RAZER for $150 (at a deal) and the Monoprice Blackbird. If you’re into gaming, buy the Monoprice and save a ton of money! It feels great and sounds terrific too!

Nice, but Noisy
My kid likes it for gaming and claims he can tell the difference in game play between the stock/cheap Dell keyboard and this one with the NKRO technology (due to multitude of keys he's pressing simultaneously). He likes the color changing effects. Both of us agree the mechanical is much much noisier than a membrane keyboard, even though I purchased the red smooth switch version. In my opinion, the build quality feels a cheaper than a more well-known brand of gamine keyboards, but it's a large step up from stock keyboard. I'm sure he's got 100+ hours on the keyboard already and it's still working as expected. Keyboard passes the NKRO key testing techniques/tool online. He's also a fan of the gaming mode which can use the FUNC-F8 key combo to enable/disable the Windows key.
