I don't know how this works on other cable types, but it is horrible for RG6. I followed all the instructions to disassemble and reconfigure (BTW, this doesn't appear to be designed to be user serviceable, it is a pain to pull apart and put back together). Even after following all the helpful instructions here, I couldn't get it adjusted to cleanly cut and trim an RG6 cable. After a frustrating hour I threw it out and am buying a tool that will actually work. You should not have to hack this tool to make it work.

I don't know if it would stand up to commercial cable installer usage, but for doing a handful of connectors around the house it was perfect. Strongly recommend watching some youtube videos if you haven't done coax before (I hadn't, but it wasn't nearly as difficult as I expected).

So far, this is one of the only Minoprice items I’ve not been happy with. First, it doesn’t cut well. Second, it is not easy to set-up. And third, the blades are cheap. I can not recommend.

I use this stripper to prepare RG-58c/u coaxial cable for Amphenol BNC connectors, and the blades cut the coaxial cable perfectly in all the right places.

The blade that cuts through the outer jacket is backed out all the way and still cuts just a bit too deep. I wish I could turn that out just a bit more, but it has reached the end of its range.

Well made and a good value for the price. Sure beats cutting with a knife!

Yes, this product works great after you get it all adjusted. But it's hard to recommend a product that requires over an hour to set it up with no instructions at all. Fortunately there are some helpful reviewers on this site who laid out what needs to be done to adjust it to trim RG6 for F connector. I shouldn't have to open up a product and rearrange the blades for it to work. Sell different versions of the product configured for the type of cable you need. Or include instructions of how to modify for the various types. But if you ship with no instructions it should work out of the box and not require digging through the reviews.

This works well once you adjust it properly. Follow the directions in the reviews on how to adjust it. I have RG6 quad shield and it works perfectly, does not cut braiding, etc.

I purchased this stripper along with the 7050 RG6 compression tool to clean up some coax wiring in my house. I've played with coax cabling a little in the past but I recommend checking out any of the YouTube videos for proper use of a stripper tool. After a quick refresher lesson, the first trial was a success. No adjustments necessary on the tool. Simple to use and very inexpensive without being cheaply built. This stripper should last a long time for normal residential use.

A real bargain. I bought two. Optimized the cut depth of one for 3 GHz Belden 1695A coax, and the other for the slightly larger diameter of 4.5 GHz Belden 1694A. With careful use the results are perfect nearly every time.

PROS: Strip length is appropriate for Kings trim code 3-661-1 (full crimp BNC connectors for Belden 1694A and 1695A HD video coax).

CONS: None.

This is a good cable stripper.
