I read from a different vendor that Mac OS X does not support Extended Desktop using MST technology, it will only mirror the displays. Can someone confirm that I can use extended desktop from Mac OS X to two monitors with this device?

BEST ANSWER: Only if the television has a DisplayPort input. (Most don't.) You may need product 12781 for the television if the first monitor requires DisplayPort 1.2. Or, if BOTH of your displays take HDMI, you may want product 21975.

Anyone using this with a Surface Pro 7? It doesn't seem to work for me using it along with the Monoprice 2-Port Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Hub. I was using this Hub with my Surface Pro 3, but needed the USB-C adapter for the 7.

Hi. I have a mid 2012 Macbook air and bought this connector to power 2 monitors and use my macbook as the third monitor. I can only get the two monitors to mirror each other with my macbook working as the second monitor. The third monitor does not show up in the system preferences - displays - arrangement. In the arrangement I only see two monitors. One is the macbook and one is the monitors which are being detected as only one monitor. How do I get the monitors to show up separately in the arrangement window and not mirror each other? Thanks!

Not all Macbooks would support MST technology and if that is occurring your laptop probably does not.
I would recommend contacting Apple to see if they could confirm whether or not it can.

Hello. I purchased this product for my surface laptop, which has the 1.2 port. I also purchased the adapters today make the display port put into HDMI. When plugging in, my laptop only sees 1 external monitor and therefore I only get 1 addition screen instead of 2. The laptop shows screen 1 (laptop) and screen 2/3 (external TV). It does work, but not on both. Is there any way to tell if this is supposed to happen this way or should I be getting both external screens?

Works great with my 2 17in monitors. I would recommend it to anyone with a Surface or SurfaceBook that wants to use dual monitors.

2-Port Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to DisplayPort - Works great!
This worked great for me! Plug-n-play on my HD7990. I have a 6 monitor setup and I needed to run 5 monitors via DisplayPort and this hub really made it happen. The HD7990 supports native 4 mini display ports and this hub gave me the 5th one. My last monitor is connected via DVI. Windows saw my two displays the moment I connected them to the hub. Easy setup and use model.

Awesomeness
This works perfectly with my Surface Pro 4 and is a lot cheaper than the Hub that is provided by Microsoft.

Good Product
Would be 5 stars but turns out my minidisplay port isn't v1.2. It worked great to duplicate my 2 external monitors but with my laptop not v1.2 that can send 2 monitor signals I couldn't use it as desired.
