how durable is the material? Can it with stand being walked over for 6+ hours or forklifts driving over it?

BEST ANSWER: This product is primarily designed to prevent a trip hazard on carpeted floors. It does not provide any crush protection so the durability aspect is primarily based on how durrable the cable or whatever your trying to protect is. I can't think of a case where wouldn't be a bad idea, especially with the forklift in the equation. There are other products that are suited for what I think you're looking for, including from Monoprice. I would run your particular scenario through product or tech support to get their input, for good measure...

I have ling used hook & loop like this in workspace situations, and it works as well as tape, but is much cleaner. It doesn't work on pile carpeting, just the "industrial" carpet that you see in most offices. As mentioned above, it doesn't protect the cables by providing any cushion or support, but it works extremely well in keeping the cables from being tripped over. I haven't used the style with the "bare" center like this, but it should actually work better than the standard hook and loop that I use.

The floor wrap works well on carpet. It does not work on vinyl, tile or concrete flooring as it does not have anything to adhere to on these types of flooring.
It can be walked over for 6 or more hours. I can't guarantee that fork lifts would be able go over it and not put up. Would you use a forklift on carpet?

My experience is that it’s plenty durable for foot traffic. I don’t know that the forklifts would hurt the cable cover, but it provides no protection for the cable from the weight of the forklift. It’s just a reasonably heavy piece of nylon fabric woth Velcro on the back....

This is fabric. It will not protect your cables and they will be damaged by the forklift. We use it in conference rooms to secure the cables down that run to the table from the wall so people don't trip and pull out the cords.

I should add that I have left this in place for moths at a time, and I would bet that it would last for years if left in place.

Does this just lay over the cables, with hook & loop on either side to hold it down, or is it like a tube, where you have to thread the cable through it?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: Like Stephen L said, it is a cover, not a tube. Has a strip of hook/loop running the length of the strip, on each side of the strip. Lay your cables on the floor, remove the slack in the cables, then cover with this product. It keeps the cables confined to the 3-4" wide strip. It doesn't cushion the cables, but keeps them from being as much of a trip hazard as they would be if left uncovered. Fast install, fast removal, cheaper than gaff tape in the long term, and much more effective than gaff tape for use on carpet... obviously, not useful on carpet or tile, etc.

The first part of your statement is correct. It is meant to lay flat with hook and loop on either side

Yes, I've cut mine to shorter lengths using a pair of regular scissors with no issues at all.

Save time and tons of money.
I have used similar products that cost up to 8 times the cost.this product works great on pile carpets (not shaggy carpets). I do professional show production work and saves me tons of money by not needing gaff tape. If I need to add a cable or delete one, it only takes seconds. Try one and I know you will buy more in the future.

Easy to use and looks good
This is easy to use and looks good but must be on carpeted surface. Better than Gaff tape on carpeted surfaces.

Alternate Use for cable management.
I actually bought some adhesive hook/look (you want the loop only as this product has the hook on both sides) and attached this to the back of my desk. Works like a dream and easy to add/remove cables.

Floor wrap rocks!
For carpeted floors, this is MUCH better than using gaff tape, and safer than uncovered wires, from a trip hazard viewpoint. Faster install, cheaper in the long term than using gaff tape on carpet. Won't work for concrete / tile floors, obviously. Seems well made. Have used these several times for events. Would purchase again if needed.

Useless on hardwood floor
My studio is all hardwood floors. I should have read more closely but they could have done a better job of calling out that it only works on carpet.

Single stiching on the velcro comes off easily
Worked great until I needed to change a cable and when pulling up from the carpet the velcro came off on one side. I'll stick to the expensive stuff with double stitching. It'll come up and go down as much as you need.
