What temp should I make the extruder on the monoprice voxel for this filament?
Zachary D
on Dec 11, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I believe you should always follow the temperature indicated for the filament. Double-check on the spool or on the filament info page, but I believe this PLA+ should be around 210° - pretty sure it's also in Celcius, too.

I have a Creality Ender-3, but I print this filament at 215-220C. I've noticed higher numbers tend to retract better with this PLA+

The label recommends printing at 210C. I had a lot of stringing at that temp and had much better results at 205

I have really good luck with the temp at 220 and the bed at 60

You say your product is biodegradable. So how long will it take to break down. I want to use it for face cream?
A shopper
on Sep 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Not speaking for Monoprice themselves, all PLA is basically the same chemical constitution and will take years or hundreds of years in normal use to decompose. At best (buried deep in bacteria rich soil at high temperatures) it would take at least 6 months to even begin to decompose. I think it's last for a very long time (months or years) if it were holding face cream.

While PLA is biodegradable, this is filament for use in a 3D printer, not something designed as an additive for a facial product. The average time for PLA to break down is generally listed as 80 years.

As far as I'm aware, it typically needs a lot of access to UV light to break down properly. As long as it's not outside, it should be fine.

It's plastic. Assume it will remain in the environment longer than you do.

Should I use this or PETG?
New User U
on Feb 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If physical properties of the filament are a high priority for your 3D printing application, PETG would be the first to explore.
If, on the other hand, an exact and very good aesthetic is required for your project to hit the bullseye, you should probably go for PLA.
Personally I go for PLA

What do you mean by physical properties exactly? Also when you say PLA do you mean PLA+? Thanks!

By physical properties, I mean PLA can be more brittle than PETG. I usually just say (or type) PLA instead of PLA+ because besides better surface quality and being slightly more bright PLA and PLA+ are basically the same.
What material you use is more based off personal preference and what you are printing. The reason I use PLA even though it isn't the best out there is because it's cheap (I print mainly for fun not profit) and it's biodegradable.

It depends on what you are using it for and the capabilities of your printer.

Very white and, works well for wall panels and Benchy's I have printed.
This filament is bright white, brighter than any other white I have used. It works well on both my ender 3 v2 and Bambu lab P1P. Have been printing walls and the floor for a building model and they all have come out very nice. I will buy again!

pleasantly surprised
Very good filament for the money. I just finished my first roll, and I honestly expected the worst given the "no name" status. No clogs or crazy print settings and all the prints so far have come out great.

Excellent filament
I love mono-price filament. I just used the rest of a reel from a year ago and it still isn't brittle.

Great for a beginner
Just picked up a 3D printer and some of this PLA+ to go with it. It's been printing great. Especially for me being brand new to 3D printing. Plus you can't beat the price. Monoprice PLA+ is probably my go to from here on out.
