BEST ANSWER: Answer: it depends. If used as a stereo cable they are not balanced as each channel carries the L or R signal. If the source is balanced mono (one channel) and the destination is balanced mono, then it will be balanced as the TRS will carry the positive signal and the inverted signal that will be combined at the destination to cancel out noise..

I would have to say since they are labeled TRS they must be balanced as a stereo cable.

What is the diameter of the grey sleeve that has the monoprice logo? I ask for everybody who has a super-thick, super protective iphone case and wants a slim cable to plug into the headphone jack. If this metal shank (between the rings and the grey sleeve) is 5.7mm diameter, then it looks like the rest of the connector tube is slim also, but will it easily fit into a 6.7mm hole of a very thick phone case? Thanks for checking, I really appreciate it.

Fits With Phone Case
This was perfect for what I needed. I needed one of these cords that was slim enough to fit with my phone case and this was one it. I was concerned because the description wasn't 100% clear, but it works out! Thanks Monoprice!

Definitely coming back for more
The looks great, feels great, and sounds great. Very good price for what you get, mine came with the smallest dent on the silver casing of the aux connector, but other than that it obviously wont affect the way it sounds. The flat design of the cable keeps it nice, straight, and tangle free. I give it 5 stars.????????

Just buy a few...
These are great - exactly as shown, and worked perfectly! And so dang cheap, you need to buy them about five at a time!! (full disclosure: I have absolutely no stake in Monoprice. These things are damn inexpensive, work great, and children steal them all the time.)
