Light up your subject and get the perfect shot or footage with this LED Camera Light from Monoprice!
This LED Camera light features 54-LEDs and a 5500K color temperature that is adjustable to 3200K. The light is mountable via hotshoe to SLR cameras and video cameras and includes a mounting bracket for different positioning if desired. The brightness can be adjusted with a click of a button and the color temperature changed with the use of the included swap-able filter to create a warmer shooting environment. In addition, the light can be synced with your camera to be used with the flash.
The light operates on 4 AA batteries, and can also accept rechargeable batteries if desired. It also features a battery test function that displays the remaining battery based on the current brightness setting.
PROS: VERY bright
Can be used as a camera flash
CONS: Too bright as a camera flash for my camera
Fairly heavy with batteries in it (4AA)
PROS: As mentioned above . . . .
CONS: Absolutely none so far. . . .
PROS: magnetic filters, continuous light, nice radiation pattern.
PROS: Small size, additional mounting bracket, Daylight color (5,500K) perfect for KEY/FILL with daylight, PRICE, SHIPPING, construction and design...all GREAT!
PROS: Size, very small
Magnetic filters are great
CONS: Too bright to use as external flash with my camera
Batteries drain when not in use
I fine even at its lowest setting it puts out enough to balance sunlight.
5500k matches sunlight well. Not JUST orange like other LED lights in its price range.
Build quality seems good. The plastic is sturdy and the shoe mount seems like it will take a beating.
PROS: Small. Good output. I like how the "filters" are part of the case. This way I don't have to carry a pouch along with my light.
Also the magnetic filters allow me to cut and put gel filter in between the LEDs and the filter. Nice for matching weird lighting situations.
CONS: I wish there was a rechargeable option. (Sony NP batteries) I just bought some ACDelco AA batteries (PID 7902) to solve that problem.
PROS: Consistent light output, convenient to use.
CONS: Easy to accidentally turn it on in the camera bag and run down the batteries, hard to aim when not attached to camera.
PROS: The flash seems to be very well thought-out and constructed. And the price is really right!
CONS: It will only go about as wide as a 35mm lens (on full frame), around 50° or so.
PROS: Bright, great for macro work and doubled up on a camera rig it's good to go, Filters, a carrying case all for a great price.
CONS: Having to take out the batteries if in fact it will drain them? like I said, just take them out after use . . . is that a con? not for me it isn't.
