    Camera Skate Dolly 11" Arm

Extend, angle, and easily lock into place your camera mounting solution with this Camera Skate Dolly Arm from Monoprice.

This adjustable mounting arm features a ball joint at each end and and adjustable center pivot point. The central locking knob locks and loosens all adjustment points, including the rotation of the ball joints. It employs 1/4"x20 thread connections and includes a cold-shoe mount for use with a camera or other shoe-equipped camera mount.

The arm is constructed of aluminum and measures about 10 5/8" from the end of each ball joint mounting screw. It weighs only 8.0 oz and supports up to 44 lbs. This arm is specifically intended for use with the Camera Skate Dolly (PID 10274), but can be used with any 1/4"x20 or cold-shoe mounting options.

    pretty cool
I'm using this to mount a D7100 (with battery grip) to the monoprice skate dolly. It's very solid once locked into place. Of course, you have to be kind of meticulous to balance things properly, but I'm using this with a pretty big load. It seems to hold just fine, and would certainly have no problem with a small micro-four-thirds camera or an action cam of some sort.

The threaded stud is a bit fiddly to get into the camera. I'll pick up a small cheap ball-head with a quick release compatible with the rest of my system. That will help with aiming & positioning.

This arm is much smaller than I expected for some reason. If you're looking to use this product instead of a Magic Arm, they're similar in concept, but this is *much* smaller.

PROS: very small, light, and strong

    pretty easy to position

CONS: a bit tricky to precisely aim
