20ft 4-Channel XLR Male to XLR Female Snake Cable

Get 4-channel, professional, balanced audio XLR cable snakes from Monoprice for less than you're used to paying for each XLR cable alone!

These XLR cable snakes feature four sets of male-to-female XLR cables assembled into a single, soft and durable, cable jacket. Each XLR connector has a silver metal housing and is connected with a color coded wire, so you can quickly and easily make the right connections the first time, every time.

The cables are colored red, blue, white, and yellow. The connector housings are metal with plastic and rubber cable boots to reduce strain on the physical connection. Each cable carries a lifetime guarantee, so you can trust you'll always have a properly working cable, when you buy them from Monoprice!

There is currently an error on the packaging showing this to be an STP-XLR cable, while clearly the cable is an XLR-XLR type. Note that the packaging is incorrect and is in the process of being corrected.

Any issue with this cable to reach toms, kick drum and snare mics? In other words, is the binding of all cables split far enough to reach these mics?
    Albert W on Jun 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Depends on distance between mics. 3 ft is about max split distance. I use this snake for floor monitors and use short XLR to connect.

Awesome Cable at a Price that's even better
I really love these cables - our practice space is so much more tidy now. Our whole band goes direct - no amps, so we have a lot of cables to run. I have the board by the drums which is about 20' away from where the rest of the band is (trying to protect hearing some). Now instead of running a 8 25' cables from the board to the band, I just run 2 of these out and then use 10' cables from the mics and the direct boxes plug into the snake - couldn't be simpler.

I wish they had a 35' or 50' option - 20' is nice and tidy but for bigger stages I could use a bit more.

PROS: Works perfectly - seems well-built. I own 2 and they make it so much easier to set up.
Insanely cheap - you can't even get a 20' mic cable for this price at a music store.

    CONS: No 50' version

    Love it!
I expected the connectors to feel fragile and the solder connections to be very poor, but when I opened one up, I found it to be a very sturdy connection inside of sturdy connectors.

    PROS: Serviceable Neutrik-style connectors
    Color-coded individual channels
Cheaper than you can buy the raw connectors for!

CONS: Only available as long as 20 feet

    Solid product - superb price
I carefully examined and tested every connector for intermittent, short, or open connections, and for general solder joint quality - no issues were encountered. I tested again, once in-wall installation was complete (of three snakes, run alongside one another) - still no issues. Test recording (soloing each channel, one at a time) confirmed good. Thumbs up!

    PROS: Fantastic overall value.

CONS: Missing a large harness-style (wire) strain relief, and the rubber strain-relief on each individual cable is only so-so, so extra care should be taken in this regard. Considering the low-cost, this is a minor issue. 20' length is just barely useable, from a practical standpoint (recommend adding 15' and 30' versions, as well as higher gauge wire version (ie: 16). Folks will understand the additional cost, and welcome the alternatives).

    Response from Monoprice
Correction: Suggest adding 25' and 30' versions (not 15' - whoops!).

worth the money, but could be better.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my purchase, but not giving a 10 this time. I still recommend buying these, but monoprice could do a little better I think for probably not much more money put into it. Other snake patch cables I own have a type of plastic sheathing 6-8" inches to keep the wire on the ending of the connectors to stop from bending so much and put less pressure on the connection points. Also, this makes a huge difference in storing you short snake cables because with the stiff plastic jacket they don't get tangled up into eachother. By the time you wrap this babies up you can tie them with the connectors wraps together keeping them relaxed but a little movement and there all over the place. This type is usually fine for large snake cable ends where you put the ends in bag and so forth, but just doesn't seem to make since for one this size and for most applications. Really, I'm just kinda ocd about my cables and it annoys me I can't seem to get them to store properly, perhaps this is not a big deal for others.

PROS: price is unbeatable! and quality is still what you would expect from monoprice!

CONS: the snake could use some improvement
would like to see the connectors secured better/ some kind of plastic sheathing perhaps?
I like the connectors found on the xlr cables better, though perhaps only becuase they feel more sturdy.

Cheap Cable - For a Reason
I was really happy with these cables until a concert recording last night. I had used them in previous recordings and had no problems. Last night I wasn't getting signal from one of my microphones and narrowed it down to a bad channel in one of these snakes. I used a cable tester to confirm and took apart the bad connector.

One of the wires had completely disconnected itself from its contact. The soldering inside the connectors is really low quality and the strain relief isn't designed for the thinner cables (it doesn't grab the cable at all), so when any strain is put on them it goes directly to the bad solder joints. I ended up taking everything apart and there were many joints that looked like they would break under any pressure.

I cut, stripped, and soldered all of the connectors so they will hold better and put tape around the wire to add bulk and give the strain relief something to grab on to. I did this to the two of these that I own because they were both poorly made. Hopefully they will hold up in the future.

These are useful cables and are hard to beat for the price, but make sure you always have a backup if you're planning on using them for anything important. If you have a soldering iron and some time it is probably worth modifying the cables to ensure they won't break.

PROS: Great way to cleanly run cable over short distances.

CONS: Cables are too short to be really useful. Would be nice if there were longer versions of it.

    Bad solder joints.

Strain relief inside connectors does absolutely nothing.

So much cheaper than anywhere else but it works great. Just what I was looking for.

Wish they had a longer version
This snake works great, I've used it both for practices and live work without any issues. I only wish Monoprice did a longer version, 30' or even 50'

    PROS: Flexible, reliable, good quality

    Killer bang for the buck!
This is a seriously good deal! You'd pay way more for this for the same cable relabed to some brand name in a music store.

PROS: Well made, good quality connectors.

CONS: These are such a good deal that they sell out quick.
